Things you don’t think about: while the Yankees have Yankees.com and the Tigers have Tigers.com, not all 30 major league teams get to use their team nickname as a domain name. But they’re almost there:
The Rangers have been (and still are, as of the moment) Texas.Rangers.com. There are still three other teams -- the Rays, the Giants and the Twins -- whose names belong to other businesses.
Major League Baseball adds one domain name to its collection, but three still elude it.
DNJournal’s weekly domain name sales list includes Major League Baseball’s $375,000 purchase of Rangers.com, making it the 28th team name the league has acquired in .com.

They’re gonna top out at 29, though, as Giants.com is owned by the NFL team, and there’s no way they’re giving that up, one presumes.
