Giants ace Madison Bumgarner entered Game 7 of the World Series in the bottom of the fifth inning. He allowed a single to the first batter but got out of that threat and set a new MLB record in the process ...
Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters before the game that Bumgarner was probably good for 50-60 pitches of relief. The young left-hander was flat-out dominant against the Royals in his Game 1 and 5 starts.
Bumgarner has pitched 48 2/3 innings in this postseason, an MLB record. Curt Schilling had 47.2 IP for Arizona in 2001.
