Harry Wendelstedt, who was an MLB umpire for more than 30 years before retiring in 1998, passed away today at age 73.
Wendelstedt, who worked five World Series, four All-Star games, and a record-tying five no-hitters, was diagnosed with a brain tumor several years ago.
The accompanying photo shows Wendelstedt with his son, Hunter Wendelstedt, who followed in his footsteps and is a current MLB umpire.
