Josh Hamilton is in the Angels’ starting lineup on Tuesday night against the visiting Mariners for the first time in 10 games, batting sixth and serving as the club’s designated hitter.

Hamilton had been sidelined since September 4 with a left shoulder injury. He told reporters Monday that he was aiming to return to action on Wednesday, but he’s apparently feeling pretty good. Hamilton got two cortisone shots in the shoulder over the weekend.

The 33-year-old slugger is hitting .263/.331/.415 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI in 88 games this season for the Angels, who have a 10 1/2 game lead in the American League West standings.

Also starting for Anaheim on Tuesday night is Albert Pujols, who left Monday’s game after experiencing cramping in his left hamstring following a three-run double in the bottom of the third inning.
