Josh Hamilton has played seven games in his return to the Rangers and now he’s hurt, sitting out tonight’s game against the White Sox with what the team is calling “tightness in his lower half.”
Hamilton has looked fantastic in his second go-around in Texas, hitting .273 with two homers, two doubles, four walks, and a 1.021 OPS. That includes a two-homer game and a walk-off hit in his first week back after sitting out six weeks recovering from shoulder surgery and substance abuse relapses.
Because of all his time off, perhaps the “lower half tightness” is just part of Hamilton getting back into game shape.
