Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa left Friday afternoon’s start against the Athletics -- his Cactus League debut -- with one out in the third inning due tightness in his left groin, MLB.com’s Thomas Harding reports. It’s an aggravation of an existing injury, as De La Rosa’s spring debut had been pushed back several times before.

The Rockies recently tabbed Kyle Kendrick as their Opening Day starter, when they’ll be in Milwaukee to face the Brewers. The thought was to have De La Rosa pitch the Rockies’ home opener against the Cubs a few days later, but that may be in doubt now.

De La Rosa, 33, is the ace of the Rockies’ staff but posted a 4.10 ERA with a 139/67 K/BB ratio in 184 1/3 innings last season.
