As first reported by ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, the Dodgers have acquired outfielder Chris Heisey from the Reds. CBS’ Sports Jon Heyman says right-hander Matt Magill is headed to the Reds in return.
Heisey batted just .222 with a .265 on-base percentage in 119 games this past season for Cincinnati, but that came in spotty playing time and the 29-year-old boasts a .422 career slugging percentage. He should be a nice backup outfielder and bench bat for Los Angeles in 2015.
Magill, 25, had a 5.21 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 84 2/3 innings this past season at Triple-A.
