Dodger Stadium feels “like an empty prison camp”

Dodger Stadium

For your reading, um, pleasure, Eric from Pitchers & Poets made a recent trip back to his native L.A. to take in a Dodgers game. The report is one of the more depressing baseball-related things I’ve read in a while:

The beefed up security presence and the thinned out attendance combine to give Dodger Stadium the feel of an empty prison camp where hollow-eyed inmates find slivers of hope in balks by opposing pitchers and chant out MVP for Matt Kemp as if he’s all they have left to cling to.

And if you think the McCourt shenanigans have had little effect on day-to-day operations, read the part in which Eric tries to buy a Dodgers cap.
