Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers have been awarded the 2020 All-Star Game. An official announcement from Major League Baseball should come tomorrow.
This will mark the first time since 1980 that the Dodgers have hosted the Midsummer Classic. Since that time every team except the Rays has hosted it at least once and several have hosted it twice. As of 2019 the Indians will have hosted it three times. The game will be in Washington D.C. this year.
This will be the fourth time the Dodgers have hosted the All-Star Game in their history, first doing so at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn in 1949, then at the L.A. Coliseum in 1959 and then the lone time at Dodger Stadium in 1980.
