Left-hander Wesley Wright, who pitched for the Angels and Orioles last season, has signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks that includes an invitation to spring training.
Wright spent most of last year on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, but when healthy he’s proven to be a useful middle reliever with a 3.26 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 174 innings from 2011-2015.
While not quite a strict southpaw specialist he’s definitely best suited to face mostly left-handed hitters and Wright figures to compete for a bullpen gig during spring training.
