The White Sox, currently five games back of the Tigers in the American League Central standings, are going to be without one of their primary offensive performers for the next couple of days.

According to the club’s official Twitter feed, right fielder Carlos Quentin was diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder on Sunday morning after leaving Sunday night’s 3-2 victory over the Rangers. He’s considered day-to-day, and might not be ready to go again until the middle of this upcoming week.

Quentin, 28, has hit .255/.341/.501 with 24 home runs and 77 RBI through 117 games this year.

The White Sox started Alejandro De Aza in right field for Sunday’s series finale against Texas.
