NEW YORK (AP) Cavan Biggio, the son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, was among some familiar names called during the second day of the Major League Baseball draft.

The younger Biggio, an infielder from Notre Dame, was selected by Toronto in the fifth round on Friday. He hit .311 with four home runs and 28 RBIs while starting all 54 games for the Irish this season as a junior.

Rafael Palmeiro’s son Preston, a first baseman for North Carolina State, was drafted in the seventh round by Baltimore.

After the first two rounds and lottery picks were selected Thursday night at MLB Network studios, the draft resumed with rounds 3-10 via conference calls with the teams. Rounds 11-40 will be held Saturday, also with conference calls, to wrap up the three-day event.

California high school outfielder Mickey Moniak was the No. 1 overall pick by Philadelphia.
