Out since late August with a back injury, first baseman Anthony Rizzo has returned to the Cubs’ lineup for tonight’s game against the Reds.
Rizzo was having a breakout season before the injury, hitting .278 with 30 homers and an .889 OPS in 129 games at age 24.
Even with the missed time he ranks second among National League hitters in home runs and also ranks among the league’s top 10 in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, runs scored, and walks.
