Angels, Huston Street expected to exchange offers soon

MLB.com’s Alden Gonzalez has an update on the ongoing extension negotiations between Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto and veteran closer Huston Street ...

Dipoto and Street had exploratory talks about an extension over the offseason, and they are expected to begin exchanging formal offers soon. Street won’t let negotiations drag into the regular season unless they’re hashing out details, and he has drawn a very clear line in the sand ...

That “very clear line in the sand” is a contract extension that fits somewhere between the four-year, $36 million free agent contract that Andrew Miller signed in December with the Yankees and the four-year, $46 million contract David Robertson got from the White Sox.

Street, who represents himself, is not under contract beyond the 2015 season.

He posted a terrific 1.37 ERA and tallied 41 saves in 59 1/3 innings last year.
