Braves optioned RHP Nathan Wiles to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Wiles made his major league debut Tuesday night, but instead of starting or serving as a bulk guy, he gave up three runs in the final inning of the 10-4 loss to the Cardinals. His career ERA will stand at 27.00 until he gets another chance.

Braves selected the contract of RHP Nathan Wiles from Triple-A Gwinnett.
It’s the first MLB callup for Wiles, a former Rays prospect acquired by the Braves this spring. The 26-year-old righty had a 0.64 ERA in 14 innings over three starts for Gwinnett. Expectations are that he’ll pitch tonight, though he might not start. The Braves have the opening tonight as a result of Spencer Strider’s injury.

Braves acquired RHP Nathan Wiles from the Rays for cash considerations.
The 26-year-old right-hander struggled in Grapefruit League action with the Rays — posting a 7.11 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over 6 1/3 innings — but he also struck out 11 batters during that stretch which may have piqued the Braves’ interest. He’ll function as extra rotation depth in the upper minors for the Braves.
