  • BAL Starting Pitcher #56
Orioles optioned RHP Seth Johnson to Triple-A Norfolk; reassigned LHP Ronald Guzmán, C Silas Ardoin, RHPs Nathan Webb, Garrett Stallings and RHP Justin Armbruester to minor league camp.
No real surprises here for Baltimore, but the name that stands out is Guzmán, who has reportedly been touching the upper-90’s this spring in bullpen sessions as he continues his transition to a full-time pitcher.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #70
Orioles signed RHP Nate Webb to a two-year minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Webb is coming off Tommy John surgery and presumably won’t be ready for the beginning of the regular season. The 26-year-old has a lifetime 6.11 ERA and 301/138 K/BB ratio in 268 innings in the minors, though the Royals liked him enough to carry him on their 40-man roster back in 2022.
  • Relief Pitcher #70
Pirates signed RHP Nathan Webb to a minor league contract.
Webb spent the last six seasons in the Royals organization and finished last year with a 9.99 ERA, 2.34 WHIP, and a shockingly high 30/20 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings split between Rookie ball and Triple-A-Omaha. He participated in the Arizona Fall League and his 1.59 ERA, and 1.05 WHIP intrigued the Pirates to sign him and give him an invite to Spring Training. The 25-year-old right-hander gives the Pirates some organizational pitching depth.

  • Relief Pitcher #70
    Royals non-tendered RHP Nate Webb.
Webb had already been designated for assignment, but this makes him a free agent. The Royals figure to attempt to re-sign him to a minor league deal. He was way too wild in the minors last season, which led to a 9.99 ERA, but he bounced back nicely in the AFL, allowing just an unearned run over 5 2/3 innings.

  • Relief Pitcher #70
Royals designated RHP Nate Webb for assignment.
Webb was added to the Royals’ 40-man roster last year and has yet to reach the majors. The 25-year-old righty struggled last season at Double-A Northwest Arkansas and has now been officially removed from Kansas City’s 40-man roster.

  • Relief Pitcher #46
Royals optioned LHP Daniel Tillo and RHP’s Jonathan Bowlan and Nathan Webb to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
It’s merely a procedural move, since all three pitchers are on the Royals’ 40-man roster. They’ll head over to the minor-league side of camp for the rest of the spring. Tillo represents the most intriguing of the trio and is still working his way back from Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery.

  • Relief Pitcher #70
Royals purchased the contract of RHP Nathan Webb from High-A Quad Cities.
Webb has been added to the Royals’ 40-man roster and will be protected from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. The 24-year-old righty posted a solid 3.94 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 89/21 K/BB ratio across 59 1/3 innings in the lower minors this past season.
