Monte Harrison has committed to the University of Arkansas football program as a walk-on wide receiver.
Harrison was one of the top prospects in baseball last decade, but hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2022 campaign, and appears to be done playing professional baseball at just 28 years old. The former second-round pick from the 2014 MLB Draft batted just .176/.253/.294 with two homers and seven steals in 50 career contests from 2020-2022 between the Marlins and Angels.

Brewers signed OF Monte Harrison to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 27-year-old former top prospect returns to the organization that made him a second-round pick way back in 2014. Harrison was ultimately dealt to the Marlins as part of the deal that sent Christian Yelich to the Brewers back in 2018. He spent the 2022 season in the Angels’ organization where he hit .236/.326/.389 with nine homers, 40 RBI and 28 stolen bases in 82 games for Triple-A Salt Lake. He got into nine contests last year in the majors.

Monte Harrison has elected free agency.
Harrison, 27, appeared in nine games with the Angels this past season and put up some mediocre numbers at Triple-A. The former promising prospect will likely land a spring training invite somewhere, but he’s minor league depth at this point.

Angels sent OF Monte Harrison outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Harrison passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Angels as organizational outfield depth. The 26-year-old outfielder has appeared in just nine games this season in the majors.

Angels designated OF Monte Harrison for assignment.
The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder struggled during his brief audition with the Angels, hitting just .182/.357/.455 with a homer, three RBI and a stolen base in 14 plate appearances. He’s still plenty talented, so there should be other clubs willing to take a chance on him on waivers.

Monte Harrison went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Orioles on Sunday.
Harrison got the start in left field and drove in the first runs of the game with a two-run shot to right field off Austin Voth in the third inning. He later added a base hit to drive in Luis Rengifo from second base in the seventh. The 26-year-old outfielder is now 2-for-10 with a homer and a steal with the Angels.

Angels purchased the contract of OF Monte Harrison from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 26-year-old outfielder was hitting just .213/.305/.368 with six homers, 24 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 50 games at Triple-A Salt Lake. He’ll provide the Angels with depth in the outfield and speed off of the bench. Juan Lagares was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Angels signed OF Monte Harrison to a minor league contract.
Harrison was released by the Marlins in late March. The 26-year-old outfielder at one point ranked as a top-100 prospect, but he holds a rough .175/.230/.263 batting line in 41 games (62 plate appearances) at the major league level. He’ll probably be stationed at Triple-A Salt Lake.

    Marlins released OF Monte Harrison.
Harrison cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will look for a new opportunity outside of Miami. The 26-year-old outfielder was considered one of the most promising prospects in the game just a few years ago. Perhaps a change of scenery will help him unlock his immense potential.

Marlins sent OF Monte Harrison outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
It’s a bit of a surprise another club didn’t take a shot on the 26-year-old. Harrison will operate as depth in the minors.
