Mitch Harris has undergone Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.
Harris had been having issues with his right elbow since spring training and finally got diagnosed with a torn UCL last week. He’ll likely be out until the second half of the 2017 season. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Harris posted a 3.67 ERA across 27 innings with the Cardinals in 2015.

Cardinals sent RHP Mitch Harris outright to Triple-A Memphis.
The move clears Harris from the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery back in June and will likely miss most of 2017.

Mitch Harris (elbow) expects to be throwing without restrictions by the end of January.
Harris underwent a new kind of Tommy John-like surgery last June that is supposed to come with a shorter rehab time -- not the 12-15 months that is usually required. “I want to come into spring training 100 percent and healthy,” the reliever told MLB.com on Sunday. “Hopefully, I make a decision extremely difficult for somebody, or really easy.” Harris, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, posted a decent 3.67 ERA over his first 27 major league innings in 2015 before missing the entire 2016 season. He’s doubtful to win a bullpen spot out of camp, even if he’s fully healthy.

Mitch Harris made his spring debut Tuesday by giving up two runs in an inning against the Marlins.
Harris was one of the two Cardinals (Seth Maness being the other) to have the Tommy John alternative surgery last year, making him available for the start of this season. He’s not expected to break camp with the club, but he’ll be an option later on if he pitches well in Triple-A.

Cardinals reassigned RHP Mitch Harris to minor league camp.
Harris, who was limited early in camp as he was recovering from elbow surgery, allowed two runs on four hits over his two innings of work in Grapefruit League action. He’ll begin the season as bullpen depth at Triple-A.

Mitch Harris (elbow) could make his Grapefruit League debut later this week.
Harris is working his way back from a “primary repair” on his pitching elbow, an operation he had last June. He missed all of 2016 and lost his 40-man roster spot, but the reliever will enter 2017 without limitations. Harris should begin the year at Triple-A Memphis.

    Cardinals released RHP Mitch Harris.
Harris, who appeared in 26 game with the Cardinals back in 2015, is close to game-ready following “primary repair” surgery on his throwing elbow last June. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, the 31-year-old still intends to continue his playing career.

Cardinals placed RHP Mitch Harris on the 15-day disabled list with a groin strain.
Harris has a 3.10 ERA, but his 4.74 FIP, 1.57 WHIP and 11/10 K/BB ratio scream impending doom. The Regression Monster will bide his time in a cave beneath Busch Stadium until the 29-year-old right-hander’s groin mends.

Mitch Harris (groin) threw a bullpen session Saturday.
Harris has missed the last week with a strained groin but is looking like a good bet to be activated when eligible in another week. He holds a 3.10 ERA but ugly 11/10 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings this season.

Cardinals recalled RHP Mitch Harris from Triple-A Memphis.
The 29-year-old right-hander has appeared in 16 games already with the Cardinals this season, posting a 3.63 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 9/10 K/BB ratio over 17 1/3 innings. He’ll function in middle relief for the Cardinals.
