Padres signed INF Mike Brosseau to a minor league contract.
Brosseau played in 244 major league games, hitting .242/.313/.428, from 2019-23, but he spent all of last year in the minors and wound up batting .263/.356/.417 with 15 homers in 405 plate appearances for the Triple-A affiliates of the Royals and Mets. If the season started tomorrow, Brosseau would probably claim a spot on a barren Padres bench. The club is certain to keep adding, though.
  • NYM Third Baseman #15
Mets signed veteran INF Mike Brosseau to minor league contract.
Brosseau was released by the Royals last week and now finds himself with the Mets organization where he’ll be a utility depth piece for New York. The 30-year-old journeyman has played SS, 2B, 3B, 1B, RF, LF and has even pitched in the majors.
  • FA Third Baseman #15
    Royals released INF Mike Brosseau.
Brosseau signed a minor league contract with Kansas City back in - and wound up batting .107 (3-for-28) with three RBI in nine games for Triple-A Omaha. The 30-year-old infielder got into 29 contests last year for the Brewers and feels like an obvious candidate to flourish overseas in either Japan or Korea, where he’d certainly benefit financially as well.
  • KC Third Baseman #10
Royals signed INF Mike Brosseau to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Brosseau began the 2023 season with the Brewers, hitting .205/.256/.397 in 78 plate appearances before being sent to the minors and then designated for assignment. He then finished the season with the Chiba Lotte Marines in the Korean Baseball Organization. At 29-years-old, Brosseau will now get another shot with the Royals after hitting .242/.313/.428 with 26 homers and seven steals across 241 MLB games since 2019. Brosseau has been particularly adept against lefties in his career, slashing .265/.326/.464 with a .199 ISO in 347 career at-bats, so perhaps his best path to being on the MLB roster again will be as a platoon bat against lefties.
  • INT Third Baseman #10
Mike Brosseau has signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Brosseau will take his talents overseas just a few weeks after being removed from Milwaukee’s 40-man roster. He’s spent parts of the last five seasons in the majors, batting .242/.313/.428 with 26 homers and seven steals across 241 games since 2019.
  • MIL Third Baseman #10
Brewers sent INF Mike Brosseau outright to Triple-A Nashville.
The 29-year-old was designated from assignment earlier this week after hitting .205/.256/.397 across 29 games. He will continue to function as infield depth for the Brewers at the Triple-A level.
  • MIL Third Baseman #10
Brewers designated INF Mike Brosseau for assignment.
Brosseau had spent the last month in the minors after hitting .205/.256/.397 in 78 plate appearances for the Brewers. The 29-year-old has typically been quite good against lefties, so someone might want him as a reserve infielder.
  • SD Third Baseman #15
Brewers optioned INF Mike Brosseau to Triple-A Nashville.
Brosseau has been shipped to the minors to make room on Milwaukee’s active roster for Luis Urías to return ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Reds. The 29-year-old infielder has struggled to a .205/.256/.397 triple-slash line with four homers and eight RBI across 78 plate appearances over 29 games this year in a reserve role.

Mike Brosseau was removed from Friday’s game against the Reds after being hit by a pitch.
Brosseau was lifted for a pinch-runner in the seventh inning of Friday’s eventual extra-inning marathon against the Reds after being hit by a pitch in the ribs. It’s unclear whether he’ll wind up missing any time at this juncture.

Mike Brosseau is leading off and playing third base Wednesday against the Mariners.
Usual leadoff man Christian Yelich is getting this one off. The Brewers shifted Brian Anderson to the outfield today with Garrett Mitchell down, suggesting that Brosseau could be in line for more time against righties in the near future. With the lefty on the mound for Seattle, he was going to start today anyway. Brosseau could offer value in deeper mixed leagues if given a chance to play fairly regularly.
