Athletics announced INF Miguel Andujar underwent successful core muscle surgery.
Andujar was already set to miss the rest of the season with an abdominal injury. Now that he’s had surgery, he’ll be sidelined for up to three months before he resumes offseason training. Andujar is under the Athletics control as arbitration eligible in 2025. He hit .285 with four home runs and 30 RBI for Oakland this year.
  • OAK Left Fielder #22
Athletics transferred INF Miguel Andujar to the 60-day injured list.
Andujar will miss the remainder of the season due to an abdominal injury. The procedural move frees up a spot on Oakland’s 40-man roster.
  • OAK Shortstop #10
Athletics recalled INF Nick Allen from Triple-A Las Vegas.
With Miguel Andujar landing on the IL, the Athletics will bring up Allen, who was hitting .345/.431/.497 in 81 games at Triple-A with seven home runs and 16 steals. Allen has continued to produce in the minors but struggled when given a shot in the big leagues, but Allen should operate as a bench infielder for the time being.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Athletics placed Miguel Andujar on the 10-day IL with a core muscle injury.
Andujar has been out of the lineup for the last two days, so the designation is back-dated to August 25th. While Andujar has been sidelined, Daz Cameron has stepped in as the starter in left field, and so he should continue to see those starts with Andujar on the IL. Nick Allen was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Miguel Andujar went 0-for-4 as the Athletics’ cleanup man on Monday.
Andujar offers no defensive value, and while he is batting .284 in 299 plate appearances, it comes with just four homers and 13 walks, leaving him with a mediocre .704 OPS. The A’s probably ought to move on and give someone else a chance.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Miguel Andujar went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored on Wednesday against the Mets.
Andujar just missed a home run as his double clanked off the right field fence before he came around to score on a sac fly. He’s been a surprising source of batting average, albeit without power, as his average stands at .291 after 66 games played.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Miguel Andujar went 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI in a win over the Dodgers on Friday.
Andujar’s triple scored a run in the fifth inning and gave the A’s a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning. It’s been a very solid season for the 29-year-old, a he’s reminded why he was considered a top prospect not long ago with a .297/.325/.409 slash. A little more power would be nice and he remains without patience, but tough to complain considering the low expectations entering the year.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Miguel Andujar went 2-for-4 on Wednesday against the Giants.
There isn’t much to say about the Athletics’ offense in this one after Logan Webb’s complete game shutout. Andujar accounted for 40% of Oakland’s hits and has been a surprising source of batting average this season with a .289 mark in 57 games.
  • OAK Third Baseman #22

  • OAK Third Baseman #22
Miguel Andujar went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a blowout of the Orioles on Saturday.
Andujar was one of four hitters to drive in at least three runs for the Athletics as Oakland put up a 19-spot against the Orioles on Saturday. The 29-year-old has really swung the bat well in his limited chances with a slash of .304/.333/.419. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Andujar was playing for a new team by the end of July, assuming the A’s don’t keep scoring 19 runs.
