Nationals claimed RHP Michael Rucker off waivers from the Phillies.
Rucker was designated for assignment by the Phillies earlier this week. Washington opened a spot on its 40-man roster by designating Travis Blankenhorn for assignment and optioned Rucker to Triple-A Rochester. Rucker is yet to appear in the majors this year and has a 7.04 ERA in 19 appearances at Triple-A.

Phillies optioned RHP Michael Rucker to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rucker, who was just activated Friday after missing the first four months with a hand injury, gets bumped off the roster to make room for trade acquisition Carlos Estévez. He didn’t even get to make his Phillies debut first. The 30-year-old was picked up from the Cubs over the winter after posting a 4.96 ERA over 96 relief appearances in three seasons with that club.

Phillies activated RHP Michael Rucker from the 60-day injured list.
The 30-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since spring training due to an arterial vasospasm in his right hand. He’s ready to make his 2024 season debut though and will replace Seranthony Dominguez in the Phillies’ bullpen. Rucker posted a 3.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 21/3 K/BB ratio across 14 innings during his minor league rehab assignment.

Phillies transferred RHP Michael Rucker to the 60-day injured list.
Rucker is still attempting to work his way back from a right hand arterial vasospasm. Nothing has really changed in his prognosis, this was done primarily as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for David Dahl on Monday.

Phillies placed RHP Michael Rucker on 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with right hand arterial vasospasm.
The 29-year-old right-hander has a 4.96 ERA and a 120/50 K/BB ratio in 123 1/3 innings since debuting with the Cubs in 2021. He was traded to the Phillies in February and once healthy, he will look to be a depth piece for the Phillies’ bullpen this season.

Phillies acquired RHP Michael Rucker from the Cubs in exchange for cash considerations.
Rucker was designated for assignment by the Cubs last week. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 4.96 ERA and a 120/50 K/BB ratio in 123 1/3 innings since debuting with the Cubs in 2021. He’ll compete for a bullpen spot, but the Phillies will likely take advantage of his one remaining option year.

Cubs designated RHP Michael Rucker for assignment.
Rucker has made 96 relief appearances for the Cubs the last three years, amassing a 4.96 ERA and a 120/50 K/BB ratio in 123 1/3 innings. It’s unlikely that he has much additional upside at age 29, but since he’s durable, makes the minimum salary and has an option remaining, it’s not very likely that he’ll make it through waivers.

Cubs optioned RHP Michael Rucker to Triple-A Iowa.
Rucker has been shipped back to the minors to make room for righty Keegan Thompson to rejoin Chicago’s bullpen mix for Thursday’s game against the Pirates. The 29-year-old righty has made 35 relief appearances this season in the big leagues.
