Petersen is on the move again after being claimed off waivers back in early September from the Dodgers. The towering 30-year-old righty will augment Toronto’s relief depth heading into the offseason.

Bermúdez had an 8.10 ERA over 6 2/3 innings for the Marlins, including one start. The 28-year-old will now look to latch on with another organization. Michael Petersen will take his place on the active roster.

Petersen was claimed off waivers from the Dodgers on Tuesday and will now elevate him to the active roster after designating Jonathan Bermudez for assignment. The 30-year-old right-hander went 3-0 with a 6.43 ERA in 11 relief appearances with the Dodgers this season.

Petersen was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on Sunday, and Miami used their waiver priority to claim the 30-year-old. He’ll give Miami some org depth for the remainder of 2024 and could compete for a bullpen spot in 2025.

Petersen is now off the 40-man roster to make room for Nick Ramirez. The 30-year-old will hit the waiver wire, and could see interest from teams needing depth for the final few weeks of the year.

Petersen returns to the minors after giving up three runs in an inning last night. He has a 6.43 ERA in 11 appearances this season, though that comes with a 3-0 record.

Petersen has a 4.50 ERA in 12 innings for the Dodgers, though it comes with a lousy 8/7 K/BB ratio. He’ll pitch in low leverage situations.

Peterson will head back to the minors during the All-Star break after compiling a serviceable 4.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 8/7 K/BB ratio across 12 innings (nine appearances) for the Dodgers over the last few weeks.

Peterson receives the call back to the big leagues to fortify the Dodgers’ bullpen depth in the wake of ace Tyler Glasnow landing on the injured list with lower back tightness. The towering 30-year-old right made six appearances earlier this season in his first exposure to the majors.

Peterson compiled a respectable 4.66 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 6/5 K/BB ratio across 9 2/3 innings (six appearances) in his first taste of the majors after being called up back in mid-June. The unheralded 30-year-old righty figures to return in a couple weeks, if the opportunity is still there in Los Angeles.
