First-round pick Matt Moses, who was found to have a heart condition, will undergo a surgical procedure today that the Twins expect to clear the way for him to take the field.
Moses will have his heart patched up. ''In layman’s terms, from what I understand, it will be like putting a patch on a bike tire,’' Twins baseball director Rob Antony sain. ''We’ve been told that he’ll be able to breath easier, that he’ll have more energy, that everything will be better.’' Moses will be assigned to the Gulf Coast League once he’s ready to play.

Matt Moses was placed on the disabled list at Single-A Quad City with a bulging disc in his back.
Moses, a 2003 first-round pick, probably won’t need surgery. Still, he figures to miss at least a few weeks.

Matt Moses went 3-for-5 with two homers and six RBI yesterday for Double-A New Britain.
His best game in Double-A. Moses, a 2003 first-round pick, is batting .235/.302/.400 in 30 games since a promotion to New Britain.

Matt Moses drove in six runs with a homer and a double Friday for Double-A New Britain.
Moses keeps coming up with a big game each month, but he’s at .251/.295/.399 for the season. It looks like he’ll have to start out back at Double-A next year in what will be his age-22 season.

Matt Moses, who missed 3 1/2 months with a bluging disc in his back, went 1-for-7 in Single-A Quad City’s doubleheader yesterday.
It’s been a lost year for Moses. Still, the 2003 first-round pick remains a very good prospect.

Double-A New Britain’s Matt Moses went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and five RBI on Tuesday.
Moses, now where he should have began the year, is hitting .327/.327/.519 in 52 at-bats for New Britain. The 22-year-old opened the season in Triple-A and hit .224/.244/.305 in 174 at-bats. The Twins still like his power potential, but he’s a couple of years off even if he steps it up.
