Carasiti had a 10.38 ERA in seven appearances out of the bullpen with the Rockies this year. He’ll head to Triple-A and serve as organizational depth for the Braves.

Carasiti has the option of becoming a free agent. The 32-year-old was DFA’d over the weekend after posting a 10.38 ERA in 8 2/3 innings for the Rockies.

Carasiti has been jettisoned from Colorado’s 40-man roster after surrendering five runs over his last two relief appearances this week against the Cardinals. The 32-year-old righty reliever holds a calamitous 10.38 ERA, 2.19 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings (seven appearances) this season in the majors.

The 32-year-old right-hander had been stationed at the Triple-A level where he posted a 5.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 26/11 K/BB ratio across his 21 1/3 innings. He’ll give manager Bud Black another option to deploy in the middle innings.

Carasiti was sent to Triple-A Albuquerque after the 2023 season, but has experience pitching for Colorado in the majors. The 32-year-old righty posted a 6.29 ERA over 24 1/3 innings last season. With his big league experience, he could end up finding a spot in the bullpen, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect much this season.

The Rockies needed to free up a spot on the active roster for Ryan Feltner’s return from the injured list on Tuesday and Carasiti was the odd-man out this time around. The 32-year-old hurler posted a 6.29 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and a 16/11 K/BB ratio over 24 1/3 innings during his time with the Rockies this season.

He’ll add a fresh arm to the Rockies’ bullpen after Karl Kauffmann fired 71 pitches over four innings in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Giants. On the season, Carasiti has posted a 7.06 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and a 14/11 K/BB ratio across his 21 2/3 innings of work with the Rockies.

Carasiti missed nearly two months with right shoulder inflammation. The 32-year-old tossed four innings during his rehab assignment but needs some additional time to ramp things back up. If all goes well, he will return to the Rockies bullpen for the final month of the season.

It’s not yet clear how long the right-hander will be sidelined for. Carasiti has struggled in 14 appearances for the Rockies this season, registering a 7.06 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and a 14/11 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 frames. Ty Blach was summoned from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday to replace him in the Rockies’ bullpen.
