After receiving limited playing time in the first week, Mark Teixeira is going to be in the lineup for all three games vs. Oakland, manager Buck Showalter said.
Teixeira will be at third, first, or DH, depending in part on Carl Everett’s status.

Mark Teixeira finally got his first major league hit last night, after starting his career 0-for-15.
Teixeira had a double and a single against the A’s as the starting third baseman. If he gets hot he will probably stay with the club when Kevin Mench and Herbert Perry return. If not, he could be sent down.

Manager Buck Showalter said Mark Teixeira probably won’t work in the outfield much, if at all, this spring.
Teixeira wasn’t going to be moved to make room for Carlos Delgado, so it seems unlikely that he’ll be forced off first base by Adrian Gonzalez.

The Rangers appear to be giving real thought to sending Mark Teixeira down when Herbert Perry returns next week.

The Rangers appear content to let Mark Teixeira learn in the majors instead of sending him down to play every day.
Teixeira’s average is up to .238. He played an inning in the outfield during Sunday’s game, and could see more time there. Manager Buck Showalter said, ''I wish I had played him more in the outfield in spring. I have no doubt he can play outfield.’'

Mark Teixeira (sore left hand) was in the original lineup as the DH Friday, but manager Buck Showalter changed his mind after Teixeira struggled in batting practice.
Teixeira is day-to-day. Ryan Christenson replaced him in yesterday’s lineup after some positional configuration.

It appears that the Rangers are currently leaning toward going with an outfield of Kevin Mench, Laynce Nix and Mark Teixeira next season.
Teixeira has played mostly first base this season, but the Rangers are thinking about holding that position open for Adrian Gonzalez, who could be ready in 2005. A stopgap first baseman like Travis Lee or J.T. Snow could be signed.

Mark Teixeira has reported improvement with his neck injury. He could return before the end of the week.
Teixeria has a strained ligament in his upper back.

Mark Teixeira revealed yesterday that he’s been troubled for two weeks by a strained ligament in his upper back.
Teixeira received a cortisone shot and will take at least two or three days off. This doesn’t appear to be a major concern.

Mark Teixeira missed his second consecutive game Wednesday because of a strained oblique muscle on his left side.
Teixeira received a cortisone injection to the area Tuesday, but the Rangers are hopeful he can be ready for today’s game. Usually players miss a day or two following a cortisone treatment.
