Shohei Ohtani is at DH and leading off for the National League in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
Ohtani closed out the first half with a senior circuit-leading 32 round-trippers and a sparkling 1.00 ERA across nine innings. The 31-year-old two-way sensation spearheads an absolute Death Star of a lineup that features Atlanta’s primary igniter Ronald Acuña Jr., in addition to a pair of his Los Angeles teammates in Freddie Freeman and Will Smith. Here is the full lineup that will take the field on Tuesday evening at Truist Park in Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic: Ohtani (DH), Acuña Jr. (LF), Ketel Marte (2B), Freeman (1B), Manny Machado (3B), Smith (C), Kyle Tucker (RF), Francisco Lindor (SS) and Pete Crow-Armstrong (CF).

Manny Machado blasted his 17th home run of the season on Friday, helping the Padres to a 4-2 win over the Phillies.
Machado is on a bit of a power tear right now, as he’s homered three times in his last five games. This one came in the eighth to extend the Padres’ lead to 4-2 off Matt Lazar. He’s now up to 17 on the season, and that round-tripper and a walk now has his slash up to .292/.353/.494 through 94 games.

Manny Machado went 3-for-5 with a solo homer in a 4-3 win for the Padres over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Machado swatted his 16th homer of the season with a solo blast off Eduardo Rodriguez. He also doubled and singled and is now up to 2,004 hits in his impressive career. Machado remains one of the best third baseman in the sport, and should be able to remain at that level for the foreseeable future.

Manny Machado homered while going 3-for-5 in a 6-3 loss on Monday to the Diamondbacks.
The Padres lose, but Machado was able to reach a significant milestone, as he now has over 2,000 hits in his impressive career. The 33-year-old doesn’t appear to be slowing down at all, and his ability to stay healthy since joining San Diego suggests he has a real chance of reaching the 3,000-hit club when all is said and done. He’s now hitting .293/.354/.484 on the season with 15 homers and 53 RBI.

Manny Machado went 2-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run against the Rangers on Friday.
Machado’s home run was No. 14 for him on the year. The 32-year-old third baseman got the Padres on the board with a solo shot off Kumar Rocker in the fourth inning. Machado is headed to the All-Star game for the seventh time in his career this year and first time since 2022. He’s hitting .292 with an .839 OPS and 51 RBI on the season.

Shohei Ohtani led the National League in balloting for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
Ohtani earned an automatic starting berth as the senior circuit’s leading vote-getter in phase one balloting for the upcoming Midsummer Classic, which will be played on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta. The 30-year-old two-way sensation won’t pitch in the event, but he’s going for a fifth straight season after reaching the 30-homer plateau earlier this week. Here’s the rest of the NL starting lineup: Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Ketel Marte (2B), Francisco Lindor (SS), Manny Machado (3B), Ronald Acuña Jr. (OF), Pete Crow-Armstrong (OF), Kyle Tucker (OF) and Ohtani (DH). The rest of the NL roster, including pitchers and reserves, will be announced this weekend.

Manny Machado had a three-run double and one of his team’s nine walks as the Padres topped the Phillies 6-4 in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.
The Padres scored on four occasions today: once on Machado’s bases-loaded double in the second and the other three times on bases-loaded walks. Two of those immediately preceded Machado’s double, resulting in an early exit for Mick Abel. Machado, who has slumped some the last couple of weeks, had gone six straight games without an extra-base hit or an RBI coming. He was 9-for-52 with two RBI, both on solo homers, in his previous 13 games.
  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. is batting leadoff and playing right field in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Phillies on Wednesday.
The Padres moved Tatis from the leadoff spot to the cleanup spot about a week ago to try and shake up their offense. He went 3-for-21 with one run scored and no RBIs, so they’ll go back to him hitting at the top of the order. Jackson Merrill will move up one spot to second in the order with Manny Machado hitting third and Luis Arraez hitting cleanup.

Manny Machado hit a solo homer and doubled in a loss to the Royals on Friday.
Machado swatted a solo homer off Carlos Estévez, but it came with the Padres trailing 6-4 in the ninth inning. Still counts, and Machado is now up to 12 homers with an impressive 20 doubles over the first half of 2025. The bat has not slowed down for Machado in his 15th season.

Manny Machado hit a solo homer and drove in two runs in a loss to the Dodgers on Monday.
Machado gave the Padres a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly off Shohei Ohtani. The homer didn’t mean much to the outcome as it came in the sixth inning with the Padres trailing 6-2, but still counts. Machado has plated 45 runs in 2025 with 11 homers and a very solid .316/.375/.509 slash to go with the power production.
