Luke Raley hit a two-run homer and doubled twice in a victory over the Athletics on Thursday.
Raley hit a two-run homer in the ninth to give Seattle a 6-2 lead, and it ended up being a big one as the A’s would get two in the bottom of the frame. He’s been one of the few effective offensive options for Seattle, although it’s worth pointing out that there’s been almost zero consistency for the 29-year-old. Luke Raley is starting in center with Julio Rodriguez operating as the designated hitter against Robbie Ray and San Francisco.

Victor Robles (hip) was held out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s battle against the Dodgers.
As expected, Robles gets a night off after injuring his hip when he crashed into the outfield wall on Tuesday in an attempt to bring back a home run off the bat of Gavin Lux. He’s considered day-to-day and isn’t expected to require a trip to the injured list. Luke Raley will start in his place in center field and bat leadoff for the M’s against Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers on Wednesday evening in Los Angeles.
