Giants signed C Logan Porter to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Porter, 29, was outrighted off the 40-man roster by the Mets in August, and elected minor-league free agency after the season. The 29-year-old has bounced around organizations, and he’ll likely provide depth for the Giants in 2025 with an outside chance he earns the backup backstop job.

Mets sent C Logan Porter outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Porter was brought in as minor league catching depth by the Mets in July and was booted off the 40-man roster after the trade deadline. He never appeared in a major league game for New York and will continue to serve as catching depth in the minors.

Mets designated C Logan Porter for assignment.
Porter was removed from New York’s 40-man roster earlier this week at the trade deadline. The 29-year-old backstop signed a minor league pact with the Mets a couple weeks ago.

Mets signed C Logan Porter to a minor league contract.
The deal, which was first reported last Thursday, is now official. Porter joins Triple-A Rochester as a potential backup catching option behind young stalwart Francisco Alvarez. He’s not going to make an impact for fantasy purposes, but he’s a reliable depth option for the Mets moving forward.

Ari Alexander of KPRC Houston reported that the Mets are signing C/1B Logan Porter to a Major League contract, pending physical.
Porter was most recently with the Giants, who acquired him from the Orioles back in June; however, they were forced to release Porter from Triple-A Sacramento after he triggered an opt-out clause which forced the Giants to add him to the 40-man or release him. Porter had a .716 OPS with two home runs in 85 plate appearances in Triple-A; he also hit .319 with six home runs in 32 games for Triple-A Omaha. He was allegedly looking to sign with a team that would give him more of a chance to catch, so perhaps the Mets see him as further depth behind Francisco Alvarez and/or Luis Torrens.

Giants acquired C Logan Porter from the Royals for cash considerations.
The Giants are still looking to build organizational catching depth in the wake of the injuries that they’ve been dealt at the position this season, so the move makes plenty of sense on their end. The 28-year-old backstop has been outstanding at Triple-A Omaha this season — slashing .319/.428/.575 with six homers and 22 RBI in 138 plate appearances.

    Royals re-signed C Logan Porter.
It’s no surprise to see Porter back with Kansas City on a new pact just a few hours after being non-tendered. The 28-year-old catcher provides some emergency catching depth heading into 2024 after getting into 11 contests this past season for the Royals.

    Royals non-tendered C Logan Porter.
Porter heads to free agency after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 28-year-old backstop got into 11 games this past season for Kansas City.

Royals designated C Logan Porter for assignment.
The 28-year-old backstop was a roster casualty on Tuesday with the Royals needing to free up a couple of spots on their 40-man roster. Porter made his big league debut in 2023 — going 6-for-31 (.194) with a homer and three RBI in his limited action with the Royals. He’s likely to pass through waivers unclaimed.

Making his major league debut, Logan Porter went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a HBP as the Royals edged the White Sox 11-10 in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader.
The 28-year-old Porter hit the ball hard all three times he made contact and was rewarded with two singles and two RBI. He’s due to finish out the season as Salvador Perez’s backup.
