Logan Allen allowed four runs with one strikeout over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Padres on Tuesday.
Allen dodged trouble early on, stranding five baserunners with the help of three ground ball double plays. But he could only get by for so long without missing any bats. Jackson Merrill took him deep for a solo shot in the fourth inning to put the Padres on the board. Two more runs would score on a walk and two hits in the fifth. Allen struck out his first batter to start the sixth and walked two more before his day was done. The 26-year-old left-hander lines up for a start against the White Sox in Cleveland next Tuesday.

Logan Allen will be the Guardians’ fifth starter to open the season.
Allen had a 1.89 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 19/4 K/BB ratio in 19 innings this spring. Just 26, he had a 3.81 ERA in 125 innings in 2023, but was booted from the rotation after posting a 5.73 ERA in 20 starts in 2024. Allen is someone for AL-Only managers to be aware of to start the year as the Guardians are giving him another chance to stick in the rotation.

Logan Allen held the Angels to one run in 4 2/3 innings and struck out six on Wednesday.
Luis L. Ortiz has been awful, and Joey Cantillo is experiencing his usual control issues, so the door might be open for Allen to sneak in and claim the fifth spot in the Cleveland’s rotation. He has a 1.89 ERA and a 19/4 K/BB in 19 innings.

Logan Allen yielded five runs — four earned — in 3 2/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners.
Allen came into the day having allowed just one run in 10 2/3 innings in a long shot bid to claim a spot in Cleveland’s rotation, so this one hurts. Luis L. Ortiz and Joey Cantillo are viewed as the favorites to open up as the Guardians’ fifth starter.

Logan Allen pitched well in Thursday’s spring start against the White Sox, allowing just one hit over 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.
The 26-year-old southpaw piled up four strikeouts on the afternoon while allowing only one free pass, though he also plunked two batters, fracturing Andrew Benintendi’s hand in the process. The lone hit that Allen allowed was a leadoff single to Tristan Gray to begin the third inning. He got five whiffs on 44 offerings, posting a CSW of 32 percent. He’s still a long way away from being a viable fantasy option, but this was a nice step in the right direction.

Guardians optioned LHP Logan Allen to Triple-A Columbus.
Allen heads back to the minors after surrendering five runs over five innings in a spot start during Monday’s twin bill against the Royals. The 25-year-old lefty has has struggled to an uninspiring 5.73 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 79/41 K/BB ratio across 97 1/3 innings (20 starts) this season at the highest level. After looking like a potential back-end rotation option for fantasy managers, he’s best left on waiver wires at the moment until we see some tangible adjustments.

Logan Allen allowed five runs in five innings and took the loss against the Royals on Monday.
Allen gave up eight hits, walked four and struck out one. Allen was called up from the minors to start, though he wasn’t the 27th man for the doubleheader. It’s unclear how long he might stick around with the Guardians, but Alex Cobb is set to return to the Cleveland rotation this weekend. Allen is 8-5 with a 5.73 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 79 strikeouts in 97 1/3 innings this year.

Guardians recalled LHP Logan Allen from Triple-A Columbus.
Allen is facing the Royals in the second game of tonight’s doubleheader. He’s not a 27th man callup, so he could stick around afterwards. However, it sounds like Alex Cobb is about ready to return and fill the rotation spot next week.

Guardians optioned LHP Logan Allen to Triple-A Columbus.
Allen pitched fine in his start Monday against the Diamondbacks with five innings of two-run baseball, but Cleveland will opt for a fresh arm in Anthony Gose and send Allen back to Triple-A for the time being. There’s a good chance Allen is back to make starts for the Guardians by the end of the month.

Logan Allen allowed two runs over five innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.
Allen departed in line for a win, despite coughing up solo homers to Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno in the opening frame, as he managed to keep Arizona’s lineup off the scoreboard completely over his final four frames. He finished with only two strikeouts and also issued two walks. The 25-year-old lefty holds an inflated 5.56 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 78/37 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings (19 starts) this season and isn’t a recommended option for fantasy managers when he faces the Twins on Sunday.
