Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Mets on Saturday in Game 1 of the NLDS.
Schwarber obliterated a Kodai Senga offering to begin the game for the Phillies, and it puts him fourth all-time in postseason homers with 21. It would be the last run of the game Philadelphia would score until a meaningless RBI double from Kody Clemens with two outs in the ninth. Schwarber will hit at the top of the lineup again in Game 2 against Luis Severino on Sunday.

Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and a walk on Sunday against the Phillies.
Schwarber set the tone for this game, drawing a seven-pitch walk and coming around to score and later smacked a two-run single that added insurance to the Phillies’ lead. He’s heading to the playoffs on a high note with an .894 OPS over his last 30 games.

Kyle Schwarber hit a solo homer in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.
Schwarber got the Phillies off to the best possible start you can have with a solo homer to begin the game off Sean Manaea. That’s the 36th homer of the season for the 31-year-old, and he’s just one RBI short of 100; a mark he’s reached just once in his career. That’s mostly because Schwarber has hit in that leadoff spot so often, and there simply aren’t many who provide more power production than he does. No reason to think that’ll change over the last week of 2024 nor 2025.

Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 and drove in a run against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Amusingly, Schwarber’s hits were grounders that left his bat at 33 and 67 mph. In the ninth, he scalded a ball to left at 103 mph that would have been a homer in 17 ballparks. Alas, it was a harmless flyout in Milwaukee.

Kyle Schwarber is considered day-to-day with a left elbow contusion.
Schwarber left Tuesday night’s game against the Rays after experiencing left elbow discomfort stemming from an awkward slide into first base on a pickoff attempt. Phillies manager Rob Thompson said they’re calling it a left elbow contusion. Thompson’s planning on having Schwarber in the lineup for Wednesday’s game, but will see how the 31-year-old feels before making a final decision. The injury doesn’t appear serious or that it will necessitate a trip to the injured list as he’s merely considered day-to-day.
