    Diamondbacks non-tendered OF Kyle Lewis.
The interesting Lewis-for-Cooper Hummel deal turned out to be pretty inconsequential. Lewis got into just 16 games for the Diamondbacks, going 8-for-51 with one homer. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he gets healthier and succeeds as at least a DH, but it’s really not looking good for the 2020 AL Rookie of the Year.

Diamondbacks optioned OF Kyle Lewis to Triple-A Reno.
With Evan Longoria (back) returning from the injured list on Monday, the Diamondbacks needed to free up a spot on the active roster and Lewis was the odd-man out this time around. He has murdered the baseball at the Triple-A level this season, but is slashing a woeful .157/.204/.255 with one homer, two RBI and a 21/3 K/BB ratio in 54 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks recalled OF Kyle Lewis from Triple-A Reno.
The 28-year-old has lit the world on fire during his time at Triple-A this season, but has slashed just .182/.229/.303 with one homer, two RBI and an 11/2 K/BB ratio in 35 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks on the season. Jake McCarthy was optioned back to Triple-A in a corresponding move on Monday.

Diamondbacks recalled OF Kyle Lewis from Triple-A Reno.
With Dominic Canzone heading to the Mariners in the Paul Sewald deal, Lewis will get another opportunity to show what he can do at the big league level. The 28-year-old has slashed a robust .340/.425/.615 with 11 homers and 42 RBI in just 39 games at Triple-A Reno this season.

Kyle Lewis hit his third homer in his last five games for Triple-A Reno on Thursday.
The Lewis-Cooper Hummel deal certainly hasn’t worked out for either the Mariners or Diamondbacks, and it doesn’t seem likely that Arizona is going to find a spot for Lewis at any point. Perhaps another minor deal could come together. Lewis has hit .336/.427/.610 in 37 games in Triple-A.

Diamondbacks optioned OF Kyle Lewis to Triple-A Reno.
Lewis has played sparingly over the last few weeks for Arizona and the club finds themselves in need of some extra pitching depth for their final two first-half contests.

The 27-year-old slugger has appeared in jus six games with the big league club this season — hitting .167 (3-for-18) with a homer, two RBI and a 9/0 K/BB ratio. He missed extended action in April and May due to an undisclosed illness, but is now back to full strength and ready to help out the D’Backs.

Diamondbacks activated OF Kyle Lewis from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Reno.
Lewis had been on the injured list since early April due to an undisclosed illness. He had been taking at-bat on a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Reno since mid-May -- where he has hit .237/.328/.458 with four homers, 14 RBI and a 19/7 K/BB ratio over 67 plate appearances in 14 games. With his rehab window coming to a close, the Diamondbacks were forced to make a decision on him, and it sounds like he’ll continue to see everyday at-bats at the Triple-A level for the time being.
