The Mets reassigned OFs Trayce Thompson and Ben Gamel, RHPs Kyle Crick, Cole Sulser and Yacksel Ríos and INF Yolmer Sánchez to minor league camp.
Thompson came into camp as a non-roster invite and after he slashed .250/.308/.583 with two home runs and six RBI, he’ll stay in the Mets’ farm system as a depth option for the outfield.

According to Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns, reliever Kyle Crick could miss most, if not all of camp, with a calf injury.
Crick was signed to a minor league deal in December with the hopes of winning a spot in the Mets’ bullpen. While the 30-year-old posted an 8.22 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and an 11/2 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings in spring training for the Reds last year, he does have a career 3.56 ERA and 24.6 percent strikeout rate in 187 MLB innings. Unfortunately, he has struggled to remain healthy, which appears to be the case in 2024 as well.

Mets signed RHP Kyle Crick to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The former first-round draft pick has made 194 big-league appearances out of the bullpen, a majority of those with the Pirates, but did not land on a major-league roster this past season. He made just 14 appearances for the White Sox in 2022 before getting shut down with an elbow injury. The Rays invited him to spring training in 2023 but he posted an 8.22 ERA over 7 2/3 innings of Grapefruit League action, failing to find a roster spot. His most recent action has come in the Dominican Winter League where he’s allowed two hits and two walks while striking out four batters, in 3 innings of work.

Kyle Crick exercised the opt-out clause in his contract with the Rays.
The 30-year-old right-hander was likely informed that he wouldn’t make the big league bullpen, so he’ll look for an opportunity elsewhere. Crick posted an 8.22 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and an 11/2 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings in Grapefruit League action.

Rays signed RHP Kyle Crick to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Crick will compete this spring in the Grapefruit League for a spot in the Rays’ season-opening bullpen. The 30-year-old righty reliever made 14 relief appearances last season for the White Sox before suffering a season-ending right elbow injury. It’s unclear whether he’s fully healthy entering spring training, but he’ll get a chance to make Tampa Bay’s roster and represents an interesting gamble for a club that has had a ton of success with reliever imports.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, free agent right-hander Kyle Crick (elbow) threw for interested teams on Friday.
Crick elected free agency earlier this offseason after being removed from the White Sox’ 40-man roster. The 30-year-old former first-round pick made just 14 relief appearances last season for Chicago before his season ended prematurely due to right elbow inflammation. He should be ready to compete for a spot on a big-league roster somewhere this spring.

Kyle Crick has elected free agency.
Crick passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the White Sox’ 40-man roster last week and has refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Charlotte. The 29-year-old righty reliever made just 14 appearances for Chicago last year before his season ended due to right elbow inflammation.

  • FA Relief Pitcher #30
White Sox sent RHP Kyle Crick outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
The move clears him from the 40-man roster. Crick made 14 appearances with a 4.02 ERA this season before going down with right elbow inflammation.

White Sox transferred RHP Kyle Crick (elbow) to the 60-day injured list.
Crick has been on the injured list with right elbow inflammation since mid-June. Moving him to the 60-day injured list opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Carlos Pérez.

White Sox placed RHP Kyle Crick on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 14, with right elbow inflammation.
Crick’s placement on the IL opens up a spot for Vince Velasquez. The right-hander has a 4.02 ERA in 14 appearances as a middle reliever.
