  • CWS Starting Pitcher #57
White Sox optioned LHP Ky Bush to Triple-A Charlotte.
Not ready for prime time just yet, Bush went 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA and 16 walks in 17 2/3 innings over the course of four starts for the White Sox. Maybe he’ll get another chance next month, but he’s probably a guy who will need to open 2025 back in Triple-A. He’s pitched just 19 innings total at that level.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #57
Ky Bush was hit hard in Saturday night’s loss to the Tigers, giving up five runs on eight hits over his three innings of work.
The rookie southpaw also walked a batter and recorded one strikeout in the ballgame. The Tigers scratched out a run against him in the opening inning, then broke through for four more in the third — including a solo shot off the bat of Matt Vierling. Bush generated just five swings and misses on 60 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to improve upon a miserable 5.60 ERA, 2.04 WHIP and 11/16 K/BB ratio (17 2/3 innings) when he does battle against the Rangers on Thursday.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #57
Ky Bush allowed one run in six innings and took the loss against the Astros on Sunday.
Bush gave up four hits, walked three and struck out five. The Astros’ lone run off Bush came on a solo home run by Yainer Diaz in the sixth inning. It was a solid outing for Bush in just his third major league appearance and represented a big improvement over his first two starts where he allowed five and seven walks. Fantasy managers still need to see more consistency from him before inserting him into starting lineups. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Tigers at home next week.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #57
Ky Bush gave up two runs over 4 2/3 innings while picking up no decision against the Yankees on Monday.
Bush gave up six hits while striking out two, but the notable stat from this start is seven walks. That gives him a dozen in his first two starts of the year, and be it nerves or poor command — it’s likely both — he’s really struggled to locate his offerings. Bush has some long-term potential upside, but he can’t be trusted as a fantasy option in 2024.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #83
Ky Bush took a loss in his major league debut after allowing three runs in four innings Monday against the A’s.
Bush allowed just two hits, but he walked five, hit a batter and threw wild pitch in a nervous outing. He’ll likely show better control next time out, but fantasy value isn’t in the cards.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #83
White Sox selected the contract of LHP Ky Bush from Triple-A Charlotte.
Bush will make his major league debut against the A’s tonight. He had a 6.16 ERA in four appearances after moving up to Triple-A, though he came in as 2.12 in 14 starts in Double-A. He has a chance to be a decent bottom-of-the-rotation guy for the White Sox, though it might take some time.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #83
The White Sox plan to promote Ky Bush from Triple-A Charlotte to start against the Athletics on Monday.
It will be the MLB debut for the 24-year-old southpaw who was acquired from the Angels in the Lucas Giolito trade. Bush has really struggled in four outings (two starts) since getting promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on July 1 — posting a 6.16 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 16/10 K/BB ratio over 19 innings — making the timing of the promotion a bit interesting. He’ll see if he can stop the White Sox’ 20-game losing streak when he takes the mound on Monday night.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #83
The White Sox are promoting prospect Ky Bush from Double-A to Triple-A.
The 24-year-old Bush, who was acquired from the Angels in the Lucas Giolito/Reynaldo López deal last summer, had been one of the Southern League’s best pitchers, going 5-3 with a 2.12 ERA and a 78/33 K/BB in 80 2/3 innings. He’s not a particularly exciting fantasy prospect, but he does offer middle-of-the-rotation potential and there’s a good chance he’ll make his major league debut this summer.
  • CWS Right Fielder #22
Wbite Sox optioned OF Oscar Colás, RHP Davis Martin, LHP Sammy Peralta and INF José Rodriguez to Triple-A Charlotte; optioned LHP Jake Eder and RHP Josimar Cousin to Double-A Birmingham; reassigned Cs Edgar Quero and Adam Hackenburg, RHPs Edgar Navarro and Lane Ramsey, and LHPs Ky Bush and Fraser Ellard to minor league camp.
No real surprises here as Colás figured to be edged out of contention for an Opening Day roster spot after an influx of talent during the offseason. Meanwhile, Quero and Bush represent a pair of top prospects on the verge of making it to the big leagues relatively soon. It’s a bit surprising to see Eder heading back to Double-A, but he’ll get plenty of innings there to open the year.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #93
White Sox acquired LHP Ky Bush and C Edgar Quero from the Angels for RHP’s Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo López.
Bush was selected in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft and has struggled this season in the lower minors. The 23-year-old southpaw was considered one of the Angels’ top prospects and projects as a future back-of-the-rotation starter down the road.
