Kameron Loe picked up a three-inning save today against the Orioles.
He gave up one run and struck out four. The 40 pitches he threw today will help ease the transition if the Rangers opt to move him into the rotation.

The Rangers are considering moving Kameron Loe into the starting rotation.
The Rangers starting pitching staff is hurting right now, and they’re getting desperate. Other options to bolster their starting rotation include Juan Dominguez, (1-1 with a 4.76 ERA in six starts at Triple A Oklahoma) and R.A. Dickey (if his knuckleball continues to improve).
  • CWS Relief Pitcher
Rangers activated RHP Kameron Loe from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma.
Loe wasn’t having much success working his way back from an elbow injury as a starter, so he’ll be tried as a reliever. He might be ready to contribute in a setup role by the middle of the month.

Kameron Loe (elbow) allowed four runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday at Triple-A.
“He needs to get some people out down there,” manager Buck Showalter said. It’s possible that the Rangers will bring Loe back and use him out of the bullpen initially.

Kameron Loe, who lasted just 2 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, could go on the DL with right elbow discomfort.
Three straight ugly outings have taken’s Loe’s ERA from 4.48 to 5.86. He can’t be used in AL-only leagues right now. If he does go on the DL, the Rangers could call on Edinson Volquez to replace him, even though they’d prefer to leave Volquez in Triple-A.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher
Kameron Loe dropped to 3-6 after giving up five runs in five innings Tuesday against the White Sox.
Loe is winless in his last four starts and his ERA is up to 5.57. He’s probably still not in any danger of losing his rotation spot -- John Koronka is a better candidate to be replaced -- but he’s a shaky play in AL-only leagues right now.

Kameron Loe was lit up by the Royals on Thursday, allowing eight runs in 2 2/3 innings.
Loe has given up at least eight hits in five straight starts after doing so just once in his first eight outings. He’s not in danger of being bumped from the rotation yet, but a couple of more poor outings could change that. He’s 3-5 with a 5.32 ERA.

Rangers placed RHP Kameron Loe on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19, with a right elbow bone bruise.
That sounds like good news. Loe might not be back in two weeks, but if there’s no structural damage to his elbow, then the injury won’t grow into a long-term concern. Robinson Tejeda is expected to be called up to start in Loe’s place on Saturday.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher
Kameron Loe will be placed on the disabled list Tuesday because of a sore right elbow.
Robinson Tejeda is expected to be called up to start in his place on Saturday, but in the meantime, the Rangers will carry Freddy Guzman as a bench player for a few days. The Rangers have yet to say exactly what they think is wrong with Loe.

Kameron Loe, still struggling in Triple-A, gave up two runs in his inning of relief for Oklahoma on Sunday.
Loe has a 9.00 ERA in three starts and six relief appearances since returning from his elbow injury. He’s allowed 27 hits and posted a 14/10 K/BB ratio in 18 innings. The Rangers will likely call him up in September, but it doesn’t look like he’ll have a major role.
