Orioles signed RHP Julio Teheran to a minor league contract.
The deal is now official. Teheran fortifies Baltimore’s injury-depleted starting rotation with some additional depth, but doesn’t offer much appeal for fantasy managers. The 33-year-old journeyman right-hander is an option to take the ball for Thursday’s series finale against the Blue Jays.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Orioles have signed right-hander Julio Teheran to a minor-league contract.
As Heyman notes in his post, the Orioles are in need of starting pitching help, and the hope is Teheran can provide some. This is the second time he’s joined the Baltimore organization, as he also signed a minor-league contract with the O’s in February before opting out when he didn’t make the team out of spring training. The right-hander was awful in Triple-A Iowa before he opted out of his contract with the Cubs as seen in an 8.82 ERA and 1.81 WHIP oer 32 2/3 innings of work. Assuming he makes starts with Baltimore there’ll be chances for wins, but he’s not exactly someone you can count on to help in other categories.

Julio Teheran has elected free agency.
The 33-year-old hurler chose to exercise the opt-out clause in his minor league contract with the Cubs and is once again back on the open market. Teheran made eight brutal starts at Triple-A Iowa where he posted a cringe-inducing 8.82 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and a 37/11 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings of work.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #49
Julio Teheran struggled in his first start at Triple-A Iowa on Friday, giving up five runs on five hits over his 4 1/3 innings of work.
The 33-year-old hurler struck out a pair of batters on the day while issuing one free pass. A few of the hits were very soft contact that happened to fall into the right place, but Teheran simply wasn’t great in the outing. It’s unclear how many starts they’ll give him there before he becomes an option to help out at the big league level.

Cubs signed free agent RHP Julio Teheran to a minor league contract.
The 33-year-old was reportedly signing with Chicago earlier this week, but now it’s official. Teheran elected free agency after he was placed on waivers by the Mets, but his addition to Chicago’s bullpen shouldn’t move the needle for fantasy managers.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Cubs have reached an agreement with free agent right-hander Julio Teheran.
It’s unclear if it’ll be a major league deal or if he’ll report to Triple-A Iowa initially during his tenure with the Cubs. The 33-year-old hurler elected free agency on Thursday after he was placed on waivers after making one start with the Mets. He’s still a player that should be avoided for fantasy purposes, but he may wind up squeezing Ben Brown out of a spot in the Cubs’ rotation which would be an unfortunate development.

Mets RHP Julio Teheran has elected free agency.
The 33-year-old hurler refused an outright minor league assignment after being designated for assignment earlier this week. Teheran allowed four earned runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings of work in his lone start for the Mets.

Mets designated RHP Julio Teheran for assignment.
It appears to be a quick stint with the Mets for Teheran who received a quick hook on Monday in a disastrous season debut against the Braves where he was charged with four runs over 2 2/3 innings. It’ll be interesting to see if any other team is willing to take a chance on the 33-year-old journeyman, but he’s an afterthought for fantasy managers this season.

Julio Teheran was shelled for four runs over 2 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Braves.
Teheran was long gone before this one was decided against his former team in his rather forgettable Mets debut after signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract last week. He was tagged for six hits, including a two-run homer by Marcell Ozuna before leaving in the third inning. He finished with three strikeouts and also issued two walks. Barring something unexpected, he’ll take the ball on Saturday against the Royals at Citi Field.

Mets signed RHP Julio Teheran to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
The deal, which was agreed to earlier this week, is now official. The 33-year-old veteran righty provides some extra depth for the Mets’ rotation, but for fantasy managers, he’s likely not going to be worth an add to rosters, especially if Tylor Megill is able to come back from his shoulder injury sooner rather than later.
