Padres returned RHP Juan Nuñez to the Orioles.
Nuñez was picked up by San Diego in the offseason Rule 5 Draft and was unable to land a spot on the club’s season-opening roster.

Orioles acquired RHP’s Juan Nuñez and Yennier Canó and LHP’s Cade Povich and Juan Rojas from the Twins for RHP Jorge López.
Nuñez is a 21-year-old right-hander who has made eight appearances (seven starts) this season for the Twins’ rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate. He’s several years away from making an impact.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Orioles are acquiring Yennier Canó and three minor league pitching prospects for closer Jorge López.
It’s a bit surprising to see the Orioles ostensibly waiving the white flag since they’re just a few games out of playoff contention. It’ll likely be Félix Bautista taking over as Baltimore’s primary closer moving forward. Canó has made 10 relief appearances this season for the Twins in the majors. The Orioles will also reportedly receive left-hander’s Cade Povich and Juan Rojas in addition to righty Juan Nuñez.
