Josh Sborz, who ended the season on the IL with shoulder fatigue, has been talking to shoulder experts about courses of action.
It sounds like Sborz, who came up big for the Rangers in the 2023 postseason before missing much of 2024, might not be ready to contribute when 2025 starts. In a tough business, that could lead to him being non-tendered this month.

Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder fatigue.
Sborz has dealt with shoulder issues for most of the year, and was limited to just 17 appearances in 2024. He should be a high-leverage option — if healthy — in 2025, but this was a lost year. Walter Pennington takes his place on the roster.

Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz from the 15-day injured list.
Sborz has been out since early August with shoulder fatigue. A key piece of the Rangers bullpen in 2023, injuries have limited Sborz to just 16 appearances this year.

Josh Sborz pitched a hitless inning, striking out two, after resuming his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Sborz, out since Aug. 8 with shoulder fatigue, pitched on Aug. 24 and 27, but he then got a two-week break before returning to game action last night. He’ll probably need to make at least one more appearance before the Rangers activate him.

Josh Sborz (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Double-A Frisco.
Sborz has been on the shelf since early August due to right shoulder fatigue after missing time earlier this year due to a rotator cuff strain. The 30-year-old should be ready to rejoin Texas’ bullpen at some point in early September.

Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 8, with right shoulder fatigue.
Sborz missed close to two months with a rotator cuff strain from early May to July, and this is likely related. The right-hander will not be able to return until near the end of August, and there’s obviously no guarantee it will happen then, either. Walter Pennington was recalled to take Sborz’s place in the bullpen.

Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz from the 15-day injured list.
The 30-year-old hurler had been sidelined since the beginning of May due to a right rotator cuff strain. Prior to landing on the injured list, Sborz had registered a 1.69 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and a 5/3 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings in his first seven appearances on the season. He’ll help to bolster the backend of the Rangers’ bullpen.

Josh Sborz (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
It’s the first time that the 30-year-old hurler has done so since landing on the injured list with a right rotator cuff strain in early May. He’ll need to repeat the process a couple of times before he’s ready for a minor league rehab assignment. As long as he avoids any setbacks along the way, it sounds like Sborz could be ready to rejoin the Rangers’ bullpen before the end of the month.

Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.
The Rangers will wait until Friday’s series opener against the Rockies before making a corresponding move to fill his roster spot. Sborz’s velocity was down significantly across the board before he was lifted from Wednesday’s relief outing against the Athletics and he’s going to wind up requiring a lengthy absence.

Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list.
Sborz will join the Rangers’ active roster after spending a little over two weeks on the injured list. The 30-year-old should come back and be plugged in as a set up reliever and has done well early on this season with zero earned runs allowed across 2 2/3 innings.
