  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Josh Sborz pitched a hitless inning, striking out two, after resuming his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Sborz, out since Aug. 8 with shoulder fatigue, pitched on Aug. 24 and 27, but he then got a two-week break before returning to game action last night. He’ll probably need to make at least one more appearance before the Rangers activate him.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Josh Sborz (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Double-A Frisco.
Sborz has been on the shelf since early August due to right shoulder fatigue after missing time earlier this year due to a rotator cuff strain. The 30-year-old should be ready to rejoin Texas’ bullpen at some point in early September.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 8, with right shoulder fatigue.
Sborz missed close to two months with a rotator cuff strain from early May to July, and this is likely related. The right-hander will not be able to return until near the end of August, and there’s obviously no guarantee it will happen then, either. Walter Pennington was recalled to take Sborz’s place in the bullpen.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz from the 15-day injured list.
The 30-year-old hurler had been sidelined since the beginning of May due to a right rotator cuff strain. Prior to landing on the injured list, Sborz had registered a 1.69 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and a 5/3 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings in his first seven appearances on the season. He’ll help to bolster the backend of the Rangers’ bullpen.

Josh Sborz (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
It’s the first time that the 30-year-old hurler has done so since landing on the injured list with a right rotator cuff strain in early May. He’ll need to repeat the process a couple of times before he’s ready for a minor league rehab assignment. As long as he avoids any setbacks along the way, it sounds like Sborz could be ready to rejoin the Rangers’ bullpen before the end of the month.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.
The Rangers will wait until Friday’s series opener against the Rockies before making a corresponding move to fill his roster spot. Sborz’s velocity was down significantly across the board before he was lifted from Wednesday’s relief outing against the Athletics and he’s going to wind up requiring a lengthy absence.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list.
Sborz will join the Rangers’ active roster after spending a little over two weeks on the injured list. The 30-year-old should come back and be plugged in as a set up reliever and has done well early on this season with zero earned runs allowed across 2 2/3 innings.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers sent RHP Josh Sborz on a rehab assignment to Double-A Frisco.
Sborz was placed on the 15-day injured list with a shoulder injury he sustained during Saturday’s game against the Astros. If all goes well, the 30-year-old should join the Rangers’ bullpen in the coming days.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers placed RHP Josh Sborz on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.
Sborz suffered the injury during Saturday night’s outing against the Astros and an MRI on Sunday confirmed the diagnosis. It’s unclear exactly how long the setup man will be shelved for. Grant Anderson was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move on Sunday to take his place in the Rangers’ bullpen.

Josh Sborz was pulled from Saturday’s outing against the Astros due to a shoulder injury.
The 30-year-old hurler came on to protect a one-run lead in the eighth inning and retired the first two hitters that he faced on eight pitches (six strikes), but was then visited by the training staff and ultimately pulled due to soreness in his shoulder. Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy said after the game that Sborz will undergo an MRI on Sunday to see exactly what’s going on there. Be sure to check on his status prior to Sunday’s game as a trip to the injured list could be coming.
