  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored against the Angels on Saturday.
Jung has six multi-hit games in his last nine games. He’s 15-for-35 (.428) five runs, two home runs and five RBI in that time. Jung missed nearly four months of the year, but he returned in time to show once again that he can still swing the stick.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung went 3-for-4 against the Angels on Thursday.
Jung has at least two hits in five of his last seven games. He’s 33-for-125 (.264) with four home runs and eight RBI in 32 games since returning from a fractured wrist. It’s more or less a lost season for Jung, but he’s once again showing that he can swing it and a strong finish will only build confidence in the 26-year-old third baseman.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung homered and drove in two runs in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Jung also stole a base. The homer was the only hit the Rangers picked up off Carlos Rodón, and it was the sixth homer of the season for the 26-year-old. The steal was the fourth of the year for Jung, and he’s hit .276/295/.455 during his limited action in 2024.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung hit a three-run homer off Mason Miller in the bottom of the 10th to give the Rangers a 6-4 win over the A’s on Sunday.
This was an oppo taco, hit 348 feet down the right-field line. It came on a 101.7 mph fastball from Miller, who gave up just his third homer of the year. It was Jung’s third in 28 games since he returned from a fractured wrist. He also had two in four games before getting hurt during the first week of the season.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung was moved from third base to designated hitter prior to Sunday’s game due to a cut on his finger.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that Jung has issues throwing the baseball right now because of the cut, so the Rangers will have Ezequiel Duran play third and move Robbie Grossman from DH to left field. Bochy also said that he expects Jung to be able to return to the hot corner in the coming days.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis García has been dropped to seventh in the Rangers lineup Monday.
García had been batting fifth of late. The Rangers have moved Josh Jung up to fourth and dropped usual cleanup man Wyatt Langford to fifth tonight. Unfortunately, García has been one of the league’s worst hitters for nearly 3 1/2 months now; he’s batting .177/.246/.318 since Apr. 25.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung homered and doubled Sunday, giving him two-thirds of the Rangers’ hits against the Red Sox.
There were some concerns about whether Jung’s power would be all of the way back early on in his return from a fractured wrist, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be much of an issue. He’ll probably be a quality fantasy third baseman the rest of the way, if he can stay healthy from here.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Rangers activated 3B Josh Jung from the 60-day injured list.
Jung is back from wrist surgery, but he’s not in the lineup for Monday’s game. The Rangers apparently think he deserves a day off after going 4-for-12 with a double in the minors the last three days. Jung figures to share time with Josh Smith at third and also DH. He should be an everyday guy if his body is up to the task.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung (wrist) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old slugger has been sidelined since early April when he underwent surgery to repair a fractured wrist and is finally closing in on a return to the Rangers’ lineup. The expectation is that he’ll play in games through the weekend before potentially joining the Rangers for the start if next week if everything goes well.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung (wrist) took batting practice on the field on Tuesday.
There is no firm timetable on when Jung could return but Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Jung could be in the lineup next week if he continues to respond well to his on-field hitting. He will likely need another short rehab assignment after being pulled off of his last one with a setback.
