Jose Quintana allowed five runs in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday.
Quintana gave up five hits, walked four and struck out two. Quintana had been solid in the two previous playoff rounds, but he was no match for the Dodgers in Game 4. Shohei Ohtani led off the game with a solo home run and then Mookie Betts did Quintana in with a two-run double in the fourth inning to make it 5-2 Dodgers. This very well could’ve been his last start with the Mets as he’ll hit free agency this offseason. Quintana will turn 36 before Opening Day 2025.

Jose Quintana allowed only an unearned run over five innings Wednesday in the win over the Phillies.
The run probably ought to have been earned, but the official scorer assumed Mark Vientos would throw Bryce Harper out at the plate on a slow roller he bobbled. Regardless, Quintana was exceptional in allowing just two hits, walking two and striking out six. In six outings since the beginning of September, he’s given up two earned runs.

Jose Quintana will start Game 4 of the NLDS against the Phillies.
Quintana threw six shutout innings for the Mets in the Wild Card round against the Brewers, and will look to keep that run of success going against the Phillies in Game 4, which would either be an opportunity for the Mets to advance or stave off elimination.

Jose Quintana tossed six shutout innings and got a no-decision in the Met’s 4-2 victory over the Brewers in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series on Thursday.
Quintana allowed four hits, walked one and struck out five. He gave the Mets exactly what they needed in an elimination game. Quintana is sure to get at least another start in the NLDS against the Phillies.

The Mets will have Jose Quintana start Thursday’s Game 3 against the Brewers.
David Peterson will be ready to contribute behind him, if needed. Quintana is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in four starts and one relief appearance in the postseason in his career.

Jose Quintana allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
Both runs came in the fourth inning on a single by Joey Ortiz that gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead, and that was ultimately enough to allow the southpaw to pick up the loss with the Mets dominated by the Milwaukee bullpen. While there was some traffic, Quintana did pitch well in this one with the nine strikeouts, raising his season total to 135 with an ERA of 3.75. Quintana will likely be a starter for the Mets in the postseason, but New York is not a lock to get in at this point.

Jose Quintana allowed two hits and no runs with four strikeouts across seven strikeouts in a win over the Nationals on Wednesday.
Talk about turning a season around. Quintana has allowed just one single earned run since August 25th and dropped his ERA from 4.57 to 3.74 in the process. This start pushed his scoreless innings streak up to 23 2/3 consecutive frames as he’s been in complete control for nearly a month straight. His infield defense was superb in this one as he induced 14 ground balls on 18 balls in play and he cruised through the middle innings after the Mets’ lineup built up a huge lead. He’s scheduled to face the Braves in Atlanta next time out.

Jose Quintana shut the Phillies out over seven innings with four strikeouts in a win over the Phillies on Friday.
This was an old-school outing for Quintana. He moved lots of fastballs and sinkers around the zone to frustrate the Phillies and keep them off the board. It didn’t start off great as each of the Phillies’ hit their first five balls in play over 95 MPH. Then, Quintana retired 15 in a row, still with some fairly hard-hit balls dispersed through, and cruised through the middle innings as the Mets built up a huge lead. He’s set to face the Nationals at home next time out.

Jose Quintana tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts in a win over the Reds on Saturday.
Quintana was outstanding on Saturday, holding the Reds scoreless into the seventh inning on his way to his 100th career win. He scattered five hits and two walks while striking out six, leading the game with two outs in the seventh at 100 pitches. The 35-year-old southpaw ends the day with a 4.09 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a 118/59 K/BB ratio across 152 innings. He’ll take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Friday.

Jose Quintana allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings in a win over the White Sox.
Quintana walked three and struck out six while inducing nine whiffs on 40 swings for a 23 percent whiff rate and 28 percent CSW. He didn’t allow much hard contact or a single extra-base hit and was able to take advantage of a poor offense despite not being at his best. The veteran left-hander now has a 4.27 ERA and can be streamed in deeper formats with a home start against the Reds up next.
