    Giants released RHP Jorge Guzmán.
Guzman signed a two-year minor league contract with the Giants last February and didn’t end up making it to the majors for San Francisco. The 27-year-old right-hander was a highly-regarded pitching prospect a few years ago with the Marlins. He hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign.

Giants optioned SS Marco Luciano to Triple-A Sacramento; reassigned LHP Raymond Burgos and RHP Jorge Guzmán to minor league camp.
The latest batch of cuts trims the Giants’ spring training roster to just 54 players. Luciano is working his way back from an offseason stress fracture in his lower back. Meanwhile, Guzman and Burgos will head to the minor league side of camp as extra relief depth.

Giants signed RHP Jorge Guzman to a minor league contract.
It’s actually a two-year minor league pact, per Guzman’s representatives at PNY Sports. It’s unusual to see a two-year minor league deal, but Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors reports that he required elbow surgery and is still rehabbing. Guzman just turned 26 last week and is best known as part of Giancarlo Stanton trade with the Yankees in 2017. In addition to the recent elbow issues, he allowed eight runs on six hits (including two homers) and eight walks over 2 2/3 innings with the Marlins between 2020-2021.

Marlins sent RHP Jorge Guzman outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
He was activated off the 60-day injured list before the assignment. Guzman has been limited to just three relief appearances with the Marlins over the last two seasons due to recurring elbow issues. The 25-year-old righty, who was acquired from the Yankees in the Giancarlo Stanton trade back in 2017, is now off the Marlins’ 40-man roster and has the option to elect free agency.

Marlins transferred RHP Jorge Guzman to the 60-day injured list.
Guzman landed on the injured list last month due to soreness in his right elbow and now it’s clear that he’ll miss the remainder of the 2021 season. While no corresponding move has been announced yet, this will free up a spot on the club’s 40-man roster.

Marlins placed RHP Jorge Guzman on the 10-day injured list with right elbow soreness.
Guzman did not make the trip to Cincinnati, so this move was just a matter of when. The right-hander will miss at least a week-plus with the injury, but as we’ve seen countless times with elbow injuries, this could be a longer stay for the right-hander.

Marlins recalled RHP Jorge Guzman from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Guzman will have a chance to make his 2021 season debut after dealing with a right elbow injury since spring training. Acquired in the trade that dealt Giancarlo Stanton to the Yankees, Guzman likely will work in relief, but has been a starter in the past. There’s no redraft value here in terms of fantasy prospectus.

Marlins activated RHP Jorge Guzman from the 60-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Guzman is recovered from the right elbow issue that popped up back at spring training, but he’ll continue to work on the farm rather than joining the Marlins’ active roster coming out of the All-Star break. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut last summer and allowed two runs on a pair of solo homers in one inning of relief.

Jorge Guzman (elbow) was slated to throw 35 pitches in extended spring training on Tuesday.
Guzman is still working his way back from elbow inflammation symptoms in March. He had a setback in April, but is moving in the right direction and should be cleared to join a minor league affiliate soon enough.

Jorge Guzman (elbow) threw 20 pitches in a live batting practice session on Saturday.
Guzman was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation in March and encountered a setback last month, but he’s moving in the right direction now. He’ll likely pitch in Triple-A once he’s back to full health.
