Jordan Yamamoto has retired from professional baseball.
Yamamoto made the announcement on his personal Twitter account. The 26-year-old righty didn’t appear in the majors last year and was in camp this spring with the Dodgers on a minor league contract. He steps away after making 21 appearances (19 starts) in the majors since 2019.

Dodgers signed RHP Jordan Yamamoto to a minor league contract.
Yamamoto didn’t appear in the majors last season and has made just 21 appearances (19 starts) in the big leagues since 2019. The 26-year-old righty finished last season with the Mets, posting a pedestrian 6.00 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 57/20 K/BB ratio across 54 innings (24 appearances, six starts) across three minor league levels. He’s another reclamation project for the analytically-inclined Dodgers’ player development operation.

Mets sent RHP Jordan Yamamoto outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
The 25-year-old hurler was designated for assignment earlier in the week to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. He passed through waivers unclaimed though and will continue to function as additional rotation depth for the Mets at Triple-A.

Mets designated RHP Jordan Yamamoto for assignment.
The Mets needed to clear out a 40-man roster spot for lefty reliever Chasen Shreve, so Yamamoto has been jettisoned. The 25-year-old righty made two appearances (one start) last year with the Mets at the major-league level.

Mets activated RHP Jordan Yamamoto from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.
The window was closing on his rehab assignment, so the Mets were forced to make a move. He’ll continue to work his way back at Triple-A for the time being. Yamamoto has been sidelined since late May due to a shoulder ailment.

Jordan Yamamoto (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with the Florida Coast League Mets on Friday.
Yamamoto has been on the shelf since late May with a shoulder ailment but is ready to try things out in game action. Obviously, he’s going to need multiple rehab outings before being an option for the Mets.

Jordan Yamamoto (shoulder) has been throwing bullpen sessions in Florida.
If all continues to go smoothly in those workouts, Yamamoto could head out on a minor league rehab assignment before the end of this month. He’s been sidelined since late May because of a right shoulder issue.

Mets transferred RHP Jordan Yamamoto from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Yamamoto was just placed on the 10-day IL on Tuesday afternoon and can now be ruled out through at least late July. He had a 6.75 ERA in one start and one relief appearance this season with New York.

Mets placed RHP Jordan Yamamoto on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder soreness.
Yamamoto heads to the injured list as expected after leaving Sunday’s start with shoulder soreness. Jacob deGrom has been activated off the injured list in a corresponding move. Yamamoto will be out at least a week-plus, but there’s a good chance that the right-hander is out longer than that considering the history of shoulder injuries.
