Jordan Beck is starting in right field and batting ninth for the Rockies on Thursday.
Despite facing a right-handed pitcher, Jake Cave continues to sit on the bench for the Rockies. That means Jordan Beck will make another start, but the 23-year-old is hitting just .209/.259/.295 in 40 games this season. He’ll need to take advantage of this playing time opportunity before we can even begin to think about rostering him in fantasy.

Jordan Beck is starting in center field and batting seventh for the Rockies on Thursday.
Beck is an everyday player for the Rockies. Since being recalled from the minors on August 12th, Beck has started eight straight games with the Rockies comfortable playing him at every outfield position while they give veterans like Charlie Blackmon and Jake Cave days off. In his seven starts this month, Beck has gone 6-for-22 (.273) with two runs, two RBI, and a 7:4 K:BB ratio. The 23-year-old did hit 25 home runs in the minors last season and has hit eight in 39 games at Triple-A this year, so the power production should come and that could make him intriguing when the Rockies play a full week of games at home, as they do next week.

Jordan Beck went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a win Friday over the Padres.
Beck singled home Michael Toglia to make it 7-3 in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old has picked up hits in all three games since being recalled Monday, and this is his second three-hit game during his rookie season. Beck offers upside because of his home park and his power, but just keep in mind the floor is pretty low due to swing-and-miss and the fact this is his first taste of MLB action.

Rockies recall OF Jordan Beck from Triple-A Albuquerque.
It’s interesting that the Rockies didn’t just activate Nolan Jones in Kris Bryant’s spot, but Beck is back for now. We’d like to see him in the lineup the rest of the way, but that would almost certainly mean sitting Jake Cave, something that we’re not sure Bud Black will be able to bring himself to do. The Rockies can work it out for now, but Jones, who is out of options, has to be activated soon and he’s going to need to play, too.

The Rockies are placing Kris Bryant on the IL with a back strain and calling up Jordan Beck, according to MLB.com’s Thomas Harding.
We don’t doubt Harding’s report, but while the Rockies have made two pitching moves official, they haven’t posted this transaction yet. Assuming it’s true, Bryant will have played 13 games in between IL stints, matching his season high.

Rockies activated OF Jordan Beck from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Beck has been sidelined since the end of May due to a fractured left hand. He was already at Triple-A Albuquerque on a minor league rehab assignment, so he’ll continue to see everyday at-bats there until the Rockies have a need for him in Colorado. Beck has hit just .190/.198/.316 with two homers, eight RBI, two stolen bases and a 30/1 K/BB ratio in 81 plate appearances at the big-league level this season.

Rockies placed OF Jordan Beck on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand.
More specifically, Beck fractured the fourth metacarpal in his left hand, aka the ring finger. The outfielder has no timetable for a return, but this will likely be a relatively long-term injury. Beck will hit the injured list with Sean Bouchard recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to take his place.

Rockies manager Bud Black said late Saturday that Jordan Beck has been diagnosed with a broken left hand.
It’s a significant development for the Rockies, and fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues, as Beck was in the process of breaking into the majors as an everyday mainstay following an impressive run at Triple-A Albuquerque to open the year. The 23-year-old outfielder suffered the injury when he jammed his left hand in the opening frame of Saturday’s game against the Phillies while making a stellar diving catch on Nick Castellanos’ sinking line drive in left field. He’s scheduled to undergo additional testing and is facing an extended absence. It’ll be Sean Bouchard coming up to take his spot on Colorado’s active roster.

Jordan Beck was removed from Saturday’s game against the Phillies due to an apparent injury.
Beck appeared to jam his wrist as he made a terrific diving catch in the top half of the first inning. Jake Cave then came to hit for him when his spot in the order came around. He’ll head for further evaluation, and possibly imaging, to determine exactly what’s going on. Expect the Rockies to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.

Jordan Beck launched the first home run of his big league career and drove in five runs on Wednesday as the Rockies slaughtered the Padres 8-0 in San Diego.
The 23-year-old outfielder smacked a two-run double off of Michael King in the third inning that increased the Rockies’ early advantage to 3-0. He then clobbered a 382-foot (104.6 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jeremiah Estrada in the sixth inning that made it a 7-0 ballgame. Beck also tacked on an RBI single in the eighth inning, finishing the day 3-for-4. The rookie outfielder is now hitting .235/.235/.333 with a homer, six RBI and one stolen base through his first 15 games with the Rockies.
