RHP Jon Duplantier signed with the Hansin Tigers of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan.
Duplantier had been with the Braves and Brewers in 2024 but will now head overseas to try to resurrect his professional career.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #67
Brewers signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Duplantier will be in camp with the Brewers aiming to get back to the majors for the first time since the 2021 season when he made four starts for the Diamondbacks. The 30-year-old right-hander was a notable pitching prospect last decade with Arizona, but never wound up finding his footing in the big leagues, mostly due to injury. At a bare minimum, he represents quality organizational depth, and an interesting reclamation project for Milwaukee, heading into 2025.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #67
Dodgers signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor league contract.
Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in awhile. Duplantier hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2021 when he made four starts for the Diamondbacks and wound up making 16 relief appearances earlier this year for Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets’ minor league system. The 30-year-old righty was a notable pitching prospect for Arizona last decade, but never wound up finding his footing in the big leagues, mostly due to injury.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #34
Mets signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor league contract.
Duplantier last appeared in the majors back in 2021 with the Diamondbacks and has spent the last two years in the minors with the Phillies and Dodgers. The 29-year-old righty was a notable pitching prospect with Arizona a few years ago, but it never quite came together for him at the highest level, largely due to injury. He’s merely extra organizational depth for the Mets at this juncture of his career.
  • INT Relief Pitcher #67
    Phillies released RHP Jon Duplantier.
Duplantier made just three starts this season in the Phillies’ minor league system after signing a minor league contract back in January. The 28-year-old former top prospect hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign and might be running out of chances.

  • INT Relief Pitcher #67
Phillies signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Duplantier, a longtime Diamondbacks prospect, had a 4.80 ERA in 14 starts and 20 relief appearances for the Dodgers’ Triple-A club last year. He has a career major league ERA of 6.70 in seven starts and 12 relief appearances.

  • MLB Relief Pitcher #37
Dodgers reassigned RHP’s Sam Gaviglio, Bobby Wahl, Robbie Erlin, Sam Duplantier and Yefry Ramirez, INF’s Kody House, Miguel Vargas and Michael Busch, OF’s Andy Pages and Ryan Noda and C’s Carson Taylor and Hunter Feduccia to minor league camp.
There are several prominent names in this first round of cuts from Dodgers’ camp, including Gaviglio, Wahl, Erlin, Duplantier and Ramirez all being jettisoned. There’s plenty of big-league experience among that group and it wouldn’t be surprising to see several of them in the majors this season. Among the position players, Vargas has made an impression this spring, launching some tape-measure homers in Cactus League action.

  • INT Relief Pitcher #67
Giants signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor-league contract.
Duplantier was a third-round pick of the Diamondbacks in 2016 and ranked as a Top 100 prospect in the game just a few seasons ago. He’s been derailed by injuries and struggled at the major-league level over the last few years. The 27-year-old righty made just four big-league starts for the Diamondbacks last season. He’ll serve as organizational pitching depth for the Giants and most likely open the year at Triple-A Sacramento. He’s an interesting lottery ticket.

  • INT Relief Pitcher #67
Dodgers selected RHP Jon Duplantier from the Giants in the MiLB Rule 5 Draft.
Duplantier just signed a minor league contract with the Giants last week, but he’ll now head to their arch rival. The 27-year-old former Diamondbacks prospect owns a 6.70 ERA and 46/26 K/BB ratio in 49 2/3 career major league frames.

  • INT Relief Pitcher #67
Diamondbacks re-signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor-league contract.
Duplantier was released earlier this week and appeared headed for a change of scenery, but instead will return to the Diamondbacks instead. The 27-year-old former top prospect has struggled with injuries and posted a bloated 6.70 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 46/26 K/BB ratio across 49 2/3 innings (19 appearances, seven starts) at the major-league level in his career.
