Jac Caglianone was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Blue Jays after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch.
It’s possible that Caglianone would have been lifted for a pinch-runner anyways in that situation, but it’s at least something that fantasy managers to pay attention to. John Rave entered the game for him and could be in line for additional action if Caglianone is forced to miss any time.

Royals recalled OF John Rave from Triple-A Omaha.
Rave will take the roster spot of Kyle Isbel, who was put on the IL with a hamstring strain. Rave hit 199/.286/.324 with four homers and seven steals in 156 plate appearances in his previous stint with the big league club, so he’s likely just a bench outfielder for the remainder of the season.

Royals optioned OF John Rave to Triple-A Omaha.
Rave, who was called up in late May to make his major league debut, loses his spot after batting .199/.286/.324 with four homers and seven steals in 156 plate appearances. He might be back next month, but Triple-A is probably where he belongs.

John Rave went 2-for-3 with a homer after taking over for an injured Vinnie Pasquantino in the Royals’ 6-2 defeat of the White Sox on Saturday.
The Royals picked Nick Loftin over Rave in left field against a righty for a second straight game tonight, but Rave was needed early and homered off Sean Burke in the third. He later singled and scored a second run. Loftin had a nice game, too, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, so Rave didn’t make up much ground there. It’s possible Rave, currently hitting .217/.312/.358 in 140 plate appearances, will be sent down when Jac Caglianone comes off the injured list.

Jac Caglianone went 2-for-4 with a double in his second game for Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.
He previously went 4-for-5 on Tuesday. Caglianone, coming back from a hamstring strain, has started in right field both games in his rehab assignment. One imagines the Royals will move Mike Yastrzemski to left and bench or send down John Rave when Caglianone is activated.

Jac Caglianone was removed from the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Guardians.
Caglianone was lifted from the third inning of the twin bill’s opening contest after grounding into a double play in his first at-bat, with fellow rookie John Rave taking over in right field. An update on his status should come shortly, clarifying whether the early exit was injury-related.

John Rave went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against the Marlins on Friday.
Rave’s two home runs are the only home runs he’s hit this season. The 27-year-old outfielder belted a three-run shot off Sandy Alcantara in the fourth inning to bring the Royals within a run. In the ninth inning, Rave tied the game with a solo shot off Calvin Faucher. With the Royals desperate for outfield offense, Rave should get more at-bats over the next week.

Jac Caglianone is not in the Royals’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s tilt against the Mariners.
It appears to be just a routine night off for the slumping 22-year-old slugger. Caglianone’s transition to the big leagues has been rocky thus far, slashing a cringe-inducing .144/.194/.237 with a pair of homers, four RBI and a 24/5 K/BB ratio over his first 103 plate appearances. John Rave will start in his place in right field and bat sixth for the Royals against M’s right-hander Logan Evans.

John Rave is in right field and leading off on Sunday against the Tigers.
Rave gets a chance in the leadoff spot with Jonathan India getting the day off. The 27-year-old rookie has gone 1-for-11 with five strikeouts in four games since being called up earlier this week from Triple-A Omaha.
  • KC Outfield
Royals selected the contract of OF John Rave from Triple-A Omaha.
He takes Cavan Biggio’s roster spot. It’s the first ever callup for the 27-year-old Rave, the Royals’ fifth-round pick in 2019. He was hitting .301/.382/.549 with nine homers and 17 steals for Omaha, which is nice step forward from his typical production. The Royals will probably play him against most righties, resulting in fewer at-bats for Drew Waters and maybe Michael Massey. It’s unlikely that he’ll prove useful in mixed leagues, though not entirely impossible, given his steal potential.
