Royals signed INF Johan Camargo to a minor league contract.
Camargo provides the Royals with some extra infield depth heading into the 2023 season after batting .237/.297/.316 with three homers across 166 plate appearances over 52 games last season for the Phillies. The 29-year-old offers plenty of defensive versatility, but he hasn’t been an impact offensive contributor since launching a career-high 19 homers back in 2018 with the Braves. He’s a solid depth addition for Kansas City.
