Royals signed INF Jermaine Palacios to a minor league contract.
Palacios will head to Triple-A Omaha after being cut loosed by the division-rival Tigers last week. The 26-year-old infielder, who got into 30 games last year for the Twins, is hitting .176/.232/.352 with six homers and three steals across 138 plate appearances over 36 games this season at the Triple-A level.

    Tigers released INF Jermaine Palacios.
Palacios signed a minor league contract with the Tigers last November and never wound up making it to the majors in Detroit. The 26-year-old infielder got into 30 contests last year for the Twins and will search for a new opportunity on the free agent market after batting .176/.232/.352 with six homers and three steals across 138 plate appearances over 36 games this season for Triple-A Toledo.

Tigers reassigned INF Brendon Davis, SS Jermaine Palacios, LHP Miguel Del Pozo and RHP’s Kevin Castro and Miguel Díaz to minor league camp.
The latest batch of cuts from Tigers camp trims their spring training roster to just 41 players. There are some pretty notable inclusions here as both Davis and Palacios have spent time in the majors and projects as viable middle infield options. Del Pozo, Castro and Díaz figure to be up for Detroit as extra bullpen depth sometime this year.

Jermaine Palacios went 2-for-3 and homered against the Twins on Sunday.
It had to feel good for Palacios to hit a 437-foot homer against his former team. Palacios, 26, batted .283/.441/.462 in Triple-A last year, and he offers plenty of versatility. He’s not strong enough offensively or defensively to make it as a regular, but he could yet have a career as a reserve.

Tigers re-signed SS Jermaine Palacios to a minor league contract.
Palacios elected free agency earlier this month after being removed from the Tigers’ 40-man roster, but has opted to remain with the organization. The 26-year-old infielder got into 30 games last year with the division-rival Twins, tallying just 10 hits, including a pair of home runs, in just 70 at-bats, and could make Detroit’s Opening Day roster as a versatile bench option.

Tigers sent infielder Jermaine Palacios outright to Triple-A Toledo.
Palacios was claimed off waivers from the Twins last month. If he accepts the assignment, the 26-year-old could still compete for a spot on Detroit’s bench next spring. He hit .283/.341/.462 in Triple-A last season, but he came in at just .143/.184/.229 in 77 major league plate appearances.

Tigers claimed INF Jermaine Palacios off of waivers from the Twins.
The 26-year-old infielder saw time with the Twins down the stretch, hitting .143/.184/.229 with a pair of homers and six RBI in 77 plate appearances. It’s nothing more than a depth move for the Tigers -- and a rather uninspiring one at that. Drew Hutchison was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Jermaine Palacios clubbed his first big league home run on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Twins past the White Sox.
The 26-year-old did his damage in the ninth inning, crushing a 406-foot solo shot off of Jose Ruiz to pull the Twins to within five runs at 8-3. He finished the night 1-for-3, raising his atrocious season-slash to .136/.181/.182 to go with his one home run and four RBI over 73 plate appearances.

Jermaine Palacios went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored as the Twins crushed the Tigers on Friday evening in Detroit.
The 26-year-old infielder smacked a one-out single off of Tyler Alexander in the third inning, then dashed around to score the game’s first run on an RBI double by Mark Contreras on the very next pitch. It was the first multi-hit game in his big league career -- and also his first hits in the month of September. On the season, he’s now hitting .129/.176/.129 with three RBI in 69 plate appearances on the season.

  • SD Second Baseman #4
Luis Arraez is absent from the Twins’ lineup Friday against the Tigers.
Jermaine Palacios is at second base and Jose Miranda is at first. Arraez (.315) comes into play Friday nursing a two-point edge over Aaron Judge (.313) for the American League batting title.
