Marlins designated RHP Jeff Lindgren for assignment.
Ryan Weathers (finger) was taken off the 60-day injured list for a start Wednesday, so the Marlins needed to boot someone off the 40-man roster. They chose Lindgren, who will hit the waiver wire and likely not see much interest.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #66
Marlins placed RHP John McMillon on the IL with right elbow tightness.
McMillon struggled in 30 innings at Triple-A for the Royals but has pitched well for Miami since being claimed off waivers, registering a 1,50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 12 innings. Given how little time is left in the season, it’s possible that McMillon is done for the season. Jeff Lindgren was called up to take his place on the active roster.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher
Marlins recalled RHP Jeff Lindgren from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Lindgren is 2-5 with a 6.19 ERA in 75 2/3 innings between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola this season. He made his Major League debut with Miami in 2023, recording a 5.14 ERA with four walks and one strikeout in three relief appearances. He will replace John McMillon, who was placed on the IL.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #26
Marlins optioned RHP Darren McCaughan to Triple-A Jacksonville; reassigned THP Jeff Lindgren, LHPs Kent Emanuel and Patrick Monteverde, C Bennett Hostetler and INF Jacob Berry to minor league camp.
McCaughan was acquired last month from the Mariners in a small trade and will open the season back in the minors as extra organizational relief depth. Emanuel and Lindgren are the other notable inclusions from the first batch of cuts for Miami as they both have big-league experience.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher
Marlins sent RHP Jeff Lindgren outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Lindgren has been removed from Miami’s 40-man roster to free up a spot heading into the offseason after making a trio of relief appearances this season in the big leagues. The 27-year-old righty has the option to elect free agency, but might wind up sticking around as extra organizational depth for the Marlins.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins optioned RHP Jeff Lindgren to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 27-year-old right-hander was with the team for just two games this time around, and didn’t see any action. On the season, he sports a 5.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 1/4 K/BB ratio through seven innings with the Fish.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins selected the contract of RHP Jeff Lindgren from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 27-year-old hurler has made three appearances for the Marlins this season, registering a 5.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 1/4 K/BB ratio over his seven frames. He’ll add a fresh arm in the middle innings for manager Skip Schumaker.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins sent RHP Jeff Lindgren outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Lindgren went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Marlins as extra organizational pitching depth. The 26-year-old right-hander has made three relief appearances this season for Miami.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins designated RHP Jeff Lindgren for assignment.
The 26-year-old right-hander’s stay with the big league club lasted just five days this time around. On the season, he has posted a 5.14 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over seven innings in three outings with the big league club. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as depth for the Marlins.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins selected the contract of RHP Jeff Lindgren from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 26-year-old pitched five innings for the Marlins earlier this year and posted a 7.20 ERA and 1.40 ERA for being outrighted off the roster. He returns to Miami’s bullpen and is not a factor for saves at this point.
