Giants sent OF Jason Krizan outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
San Francisco is clearing out roster space for the return of some COVID IL players. Krizan, 32, went 1-for-8 with two walks and three strikeouts in his first taste of major league action last week.

Giants optioned OF Jason Krizan to Triple-A Sacramento.
Krizan finally got to live out his big league dream over the weekend after playing more than 1,100 games in the minor leagues. Thankfully, he collected his first hit on Sunday with his family in attendance to enjoy the moment. He’ll continue to function as additional outfield depth for the Giants at the Triple-A level.

  • FA Left Fielder #3
Joc Pederson (groin) is absent from the Giants’ starting lineup Saturday against the Nationals.
Pederson remains out after being diagnosed Friday with a Grade 1 right adductor strain. It’s unclear whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list. The 30-year-old righty-mashing outfielder has gotten off to a phenomenal start at the dish, slashing .353/.382/.745 with 11 runs scored, six home runs, 10 RBI and one stolen base across 55 plate appearances. It’s Luis González and Jason Krizan occupying the corner outfield spots Saturday afternoon for San Francisco.

Giants purchased the contract of OF Jason Krizan from Triple-A Sacramento.
Now this is what you love to see. Krizan will be making his major league debut on Friday evening after playing in more than 1,100 games during his minor-league career. The 32-year-old had a terrific year at Triple-A Sacramento last season, slashing .316/.367/.492 with 16 homers and 73 RBI in 110 games.

  • FA Relief Pitcher #47
Giants optioned RHP Jakob Junis and RHP Kervin Castro to Triple-A Sacramento; Reassigned INFs Alex Blandino, Arquimedes Gamboa and Jason Krizan, C Jhonny Pereda, OFs Austin Dean and Luis Gonzalez and RHP Taylor Williams to minor league camp.
With that large batch of cuts, the Giants now have just 34 players remaining in big league camp as they try to trim that number down to 28 before Opening Day. Junis pitched well in Cactus League action -- hurling four shutout innings with a 0.50 WHIP and 4/0 K/BB ratio -- there simply wasn’t room for him in the Giants rotation after the Carlos Rodon signing. He’ll bide his time at Triple-A until he’s needed.

Giants re-signed OF Jason Krizan to a minor league contract.
Krizan returns for another stint with the Giants after batting .316/.367/.492 with 16 round-trippers across 480 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento last season. The 32-year-old veteran outfielder, who has yet to appear in the majors, will continue to provide organizational depth for the reigning NL West champions.

Mets signed OF Jason Krizan to a minor league contract.
Krizan has spent all of his career with the Tigers, and the 29-year-old owns a .739 OPS over 891 minor league games. He spent the last two years in Triple-A, and that’s where he’s likely ticketed for in 2019.

Tigers OF prospect Jason Krizan launched 10 homers in the final round to win the Eastern League Home Run Derby Tuesday night in Akron.
He finished the night with 30 long balls while out-slugging top prospects Jorge Alfaro and Nellie Rodriguez. The 27-year-old’s victory was surprising. He entered Tuesday’s action with just eight round-trippers in 308 at-bats this year between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo. He’s been with the Tigers organization since 2011 when he arrived as an eighth-round draft pick out of Dallas Baptist.
  • SF Outfielder #56
Tigers reassigned OF Jason Krizan and INFs Edwin Espinal, Harold Castro, and Kody Eaves to minor league camp.
No surprises here, as all four of these guys were non-roster invitees. Tigers camp is down to 37 players.
  • SF Outfielder #56
Tigers re-signed OF Jason Krizan to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 28-year-old former eighth-round pick batted .281/.351/.417 with eight home runs, 51 RBI, and six stolen bases in 121 games this past season between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo. Krizan will continue to function as organizational outfield depth for Detroit in 2018.
