Steve Adams of MLBTradeRumors.com reports that free agent left-hander Jarlín García (biceps) has drawn interest from around six MLB teams.
The 31-year-old southpaw missed the entirety of the 2023 campaign due to a left biceps injury — and he isn’t expected to be ready to return until the start of May. Over his last three seasons though, García was one of the most reliable bullpen options in the National League — posting a 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 138/43 K/BB ratio across 152 frames for the Giants.

Pirates declined their $3.25 million club option on LHP Jarlín García for 2024.
No surprise here after García missed the entire 2023 campaign due to a left biceps injury that he suffered in the early stages of spring training. The 30-year-old southpaw was a reliable innings-eater for the Giants, compiling a strong 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 138/43 K/BB ratio across 152 innings (135 appearances) since 2020, prior to landing in Pittsburgh last offseason.

Pirates placed LHP Jarlín García on the 60-day injured list, retroactive to March 27, with a left biceps injury.
To be clear, García is dealing with an injury to the nerves in his left mid-humerus biceps. He’s been shut down from throwing and will likely remain so until mid-April.

Jarlín García (biceps) will be shut down from throwing for at least 4-5 weeks.
García will be re-evaluated sometime in late April after suffering an injury to the nerves in his left mid-humerus biceps region. The 30-year-old left-hander could wind up missing a significant portion of the upcoming season, which is a tough loss for the Pirates’ bullpen.

Jarlín García is currently unable to grip a baseball after leaving Saturday’s game with arm tightness.
Tests have yet to come up with a specific problem for García, but the Pirates will keep looking. It sounds very unlikely that the lefty will be ready for Opening Day. Rule 5 pick José Hernandez would seem to be in strong position to make the Pirates with García probably IL bound.

Jarlín García (arm) withdrew himself from competing for Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
The 30-year-old southpaw was pulled from Saturday’s Grapefruit League game due to tightness in his left arm, so this doesn’t come as a major surprise. Pirates’ skipper Derek Shelton told reporters on Monday that Garcia will undergo further testing and that he did not have a timeline on when he may return to action.

Jarlín García was removed from Saturday’s spring training contest against the Phillies due to left arm tightness.
García threw 22 pitches (12 strikes), recorded just one out, and was tagged for four runs on four hits and one walk. There should be an update on his status sometime later this weekend.

Pirates signed LHP Jarlín García to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with a $3.25 million club option for 2024.
García was a surprise non-tender by the Giants last month and has found a new home with the Pirates. The soon-to-be 30-year-old southpaw figures to serve as a reliable middle reliever for Pittsburgh after compiling a strong 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 138/43 K/BB ratio across 152 innings (135 appearances) the last three seasons in San Francisco.

According to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette, the Pirates are signing free agent left-hander Jarlín García to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
The deal also includes a $3.25 million club option for 2024. García was surprisingly non-tendered last month by the Giants and will provide the Pirates with some much-needed left-handed relief depth. The 29-year-old southpaw has posted a solid 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 138/43 K/BB ratio across 152 innings (135 appearances) over the last three seasons in San Francisco.

    Giants non-tendered LHP Jarlín García.
García stumbled some last year, finishing with a 3.74 ERA in 65 innings. That still gives him a 2.84 ERA in 152 innings over the last three seasons. He’s never gotten much respect because of his modest strikeout numbers and lack of any real dominant pitch, but he’s a solid reliever perfectly worthy of the $2.5 million or so that he was due in arbitration.
