Brewers activated LHP Jared Koenig off the 15-day injured list.
Koenig has been extremely effective in 2024 for the Brewers with a 1.66 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 29 appearances with a 36/11 K/BB over 38 innings. The southpaw will be a mid-to-late inning option now that he’s back.

Jared Koenig said an MRI on his sore forearm revealed no structural damage.
Koenig was placed on the IL on Saturday due to forearm inflammation. In light of the good news, he might have a shot at returning right after the break.

Brewers placed LHP Jared Koenig on the 15-day injured list with left forearm tendinitis.
Koenig has been an unexpected revelation this season for Milwaukee, recording seven victories in relief to accompany a sparkling 1.66 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 36/11 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (29 appearances, five starts). No word yet on how long he’ll wind up sidelined.

Jared Koenig picked up his seventh win in relief after throwing a scoreless 10th Wednesday against the Rangers.
Koenig is the Brewers’ win leader even though he didn’t debut until Apr. 15, and he’s been burned as an opener three times, ruling out the possibility of anything aside from a loss. His ERA stands at 1.72, though his 33/11 K/BB in 36 2/3 innings is more good than great.

Jared Koenig will start on Saturday against the Reds.
Koenig will take the ball as Milwaukee’s opener before turning things over the Bryse Wilson for a bulk relief appearance. The 30-year-old has been outstanding this season with a microscopic 1.72 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 26/6 K/BB ratio across 31 1/3 innings (22 appearances, four starts). He hasn’t given up a run in 11 consecutive appearances dating back to May 17.

Bryse Wilson allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a bulk relief appearance against the Phillies.
Wilson took over for a bulk relief appearance after opener Jared Koenig spun a flawless first inning. He gave up five hits, including a solo homer to David Dahl, which was enough to saddle him with a loss as he went head-to-head with Phillies ace Zack Wheeler into the late innings of this one. He’ll continue operating in a multi-inning relief role and figures to take the ball on Sunday afternoon against the Tigers at Comerica Park.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #48
Colin Rea allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings to get a win despite pitching in relief Saturday against the Red Sox.
Rea came in after opener Jared Koenig threw a 1 1/3 scoreless innings. The 33-year-old didn’t allow a hit himself until the seventh inning, but he gave up a pair of runs in that frame. He still gets the win while walked three and striking out two. There’s a good chance Rea works behind an opener again at some point next week.

Jared Koenig will serve as the Brewers’ opener on Saturday against the Red Sox.
Koenig draws the starting assignment for Milwaukee’s second consecutive contest with Colin Rea expected to follow him with a bulk relief appearance. There’s almost zero fantasy impact here, but it’s an interesting development as the Brewers seems to be adopting some versatile Tampa Bay-style tactics with the back-end of their starting rotation.

Brewers recalled LHP Jared Koenig from Triple-A Nashville.
Koenig was excellent over 8 2/3 innings in five appearances with the Brewers before his demotion with a 1.04 ERA as evidence. He provides a fresh multi-inning arm for the Brew Crew, with Corbin Martin heading back to Triple-A to make room on the roster.

Brewers optioned LHP Jared Koenig to Triple-A Nashville.
Koenig has done a terrific job in his limited action with the Brewers this season, picking up a pair of victories and posting a 1.04 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 4/2 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings in his five appearances. He worked two innings in Friday’s victory over the Yankees though and wasn’t going to be available for a few days, and with the need for a fresh arm in the bullpen he became an unfortunate roster casualty. It shouldn’t take long for Koenig to earn another shot with the Brewers.
